I got promoted out of Skrill South twice with Whitehawk and later with Dartford. Both times I used a counter attacking 4-1-2-2-1 with two wide wingers and a target man.
That said, that tactic hits a total brick wall in Skrill Premiere. Where I'm just awful no matter what I variations I try.
I think they over corrected for an earlier build.
I was playing with two FBs that both had season average ratings in the high 7s. After that patch, they both are in the low 6s. No change in tactics.
So after a few dreadful seasons of not quite getting relegated with Whitehawk, I resigned prior to getting fired.
Then I went down to South and snagged a job with Dartford. I immediately got them promoted.
Now I'm once again back in almost relegated ville in the Skrill Prem.
Any theories?
Hilariously, I immediately got rid of Gargan and stuck with Robinson. It's amazing the differences two of us took with one team ;) Since I'm only using one forward, I've generally used Mills as a left winger. Robinson got 14 for me in 37 matches.
The strength of my approach appears to be...
I actually restarted a second time with Whitehawk (I made some crippling contract decisions in attempt #1) and gained promotion in my 1st season. I finished second, won the playoff.
I ended up using a variation of 4-1-2-2-1 (4-5-1) with a DMC, two MCs, two wingers... It worked great. The major...
Seems like the regular game to me. I save a bit more often (once had a crash wipe out a night's gaming!), but otherwise I think they could call this thing early access as easily as "beta."
A couple little UI things and such, but nothing to ruin the experience so far.
Obligatory disclaimer: Not looking for a download, want to (finally) learn to do tactics myself.
That said, my usual tricks seem invalid in FM2014. So what advice do people have for a lower league manager such as myself?
I'm starting out with Whitehawk in Skrill South.
Much of the advice in...
He has resigned with his team, so the opportunity is now lost.
If anyone has an answer though, it might help future generations who Google this issue :)
Yep. Tried that. No dice.
I also tried resending the transfer offer for $2, just to see if that was an issue. No luck. Sounds like I either pay $210k or hope he quits the team soon.
I've seen a couple similar, but not identical issues in my searches.
Here is the deal. There is a GK I want to sign. His contract has expired with his club, but he is there on a rolling deal. To sign him directly would cost me a few hundred thousand in automatic fees. However, his club will...
Question: What's the best tactical approach when you're a lower league team that is promoted to a league it clearly doesn't have the money to compete in.
I've hit a wall with Shrewsbury in the English Championship. I had it happen before in Verona in Serie A too.
Basically, I just want to not...
Thanks. I've been using these for a couple seasons and while my regular players seem to do fine, my younger players (19 year olds, mostly on my reserve team) never seem to develop at all. Their potential stars just roll back each year.
Some I loan out, which I obviously has nothing to do with...
