I have been using the attacking version with Arsenal. It has been working really well so far but I usually rotate between different tactics based on my players' availability, morale, recent form etc ; I found that it works well even at home when you are facing teams that are parking the bus.
Love those asymetric formations :)
How would you go about making a mirror version to take advantage of the players in a current squad? Would it be as simple as changing the WM from the left to the right side, drop down the right WB and bring the left WB upfield?

I do, but I play with the D line tweaked version, counter and have done very well with the tactic playing Arsenal; I don't use the tactic all the time especially when I see that the opposite team counters very fast or has great wingers/wb

Last game I played ended up being an 8-2 win at home over Manchester City......the tactic can be devastating but like any other tactic I don't believe you can be completely plug and play with it.....including being able to switch a different formation during the game

I have only used the Tweak version , with the deeper defensive line; I think that there is too much of a gap between midfield and defense without changing MC duties , feel that even the deeper line exposes the defense too much if you have fast wingers or long balls and fast...
Yes at the ML position; He was injured a lot in my save so I only gave him a few minutes here and there while he is building up game fitness, usually to replace Gibbs; he did amazingly well, scoring for fun ( a lot of assists and goals from the wings by the way )

Played Gibbs at ML and Debuchy at MR against strong opposition and they're helping quite a lot when Mertesacker is one the three CDs as well, I play him in the middle three anyway to...

Beginning of first winter window with 15.3 ( so have Gabriel from the beginning, Podolski, Sanogo and Campbell out on loan )
Didn't buy much but got Digne for 5M $ who has been great; Balanta for 12M$, Romero and bought Fierro when Sanchez and Wellbeck got hurt

Not really somebody you've never heard of but Lucas Romero is doing very very well for me as a DM or a CM in three CM midfield ( first season with Arsenal )
The others will be more expensive in transfer fee and wages but from others have reported they're good without being special
Ozil ( not surprisingly ) has been doing great for me when I use him in an AMC position....but you are right, so far Cazorla and Ox have been much better in every other tactic ; feels bad to not be able to use the best Arsenal player outside of Sanchez effectively without running the risk of not...
