is there a way or has people done this before by starting on a game and just focus the youth and not even spending a single penny on the transfer window? like im tottenham and the board asks you to playing attacking football and to focus on the youth and the other day they were dissappointed...

so how would i know which one is the best to use? like if i come across to gosling from newcastle would i put him as playmaker or deep lying playmaker? what skills should i look at to know what role he should have? and the same with box to box players and ball winning players.
