Usually when your assistant managers tells you some people are not happy with training they will usually tell you why, 'not enough ball control training' - so put some training in! Take control of training and commit to it! Can't rely on staff to know/implement what you think works best.
Hi everyone. I've had a look through threads today but struggling to find something on developing youth. I have no shame in admitting i use genie scout to pick up players with high potential at regen dates. When they join i set up their training and usually loan them out at about 17 years old...
If i have a decent Head of Youth Development and under 18 coaching staff with good stats then i tend to leave them to it. I do check back every now and then to make sure what they're doing is beneficial. If i don't have a decent under 18 staff then i will do it myself.
I have a number of leagues running so if I get 'bored' (usually fired) I tend to move country and try something different. It keeps it fresh and you can learn about new leagues, teams, players.
I sign a no2 GK on a 1 year contract only and always release them and sign another - weird?

I was a little saddened to see Marc-Andre sign for Barcelona in real life. Purely because he was always a target of mine when managing a top level club. I know, now, I will probably never sign him on Football Manager ever again. It's a sad day. :'(
I agree. Usually I like to keep my same assistant manager if/when I change clubs. This happens IRL, too, but not in the game. I think if a manager gets sacked, their backroom staff should also (usually) get the chop too. These staff should then go with the new manager to his new club. It happens...
