Tottenham 1 - 1 Fulham

Beatson fielded a weakened side tonight as he prepares and rests players for the all important Barcelona tie on Wednesday. This time the second-string side could not manage to find a win over Fulham.

Peter Crouch managed an early goal and it looked as if Spurs could go on to win the match, only for Danny Murphy to smash home a penalty on the stroke of half time.

The second 45 was a stalemate with no side able to break the deadlock. This is Beatson's first draw in charge of the club.

UEFA Champions League Group D, Matchday Two
Tottenham 3 - 2 Barcelona
Valdes (OG 74'), Bale (81'), Van der Vaart (90+3') - Villa (1'), Messi (36')

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Defoe
Bale - Van der Vaart - Lennon
Huddlestone - Modric
Assou-Ekotto - Gallas - Dawson - Corluka
Gomes

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Barcelona was going to be a tough ask for Beatson and his side, and many fans were taking a pessemistic approach to the match.

Their views looked justified when David Villa scored within one minute thanks to a pin point cross from Lionel Messi.

The tie looked beyond Spurs when Messi popped up to grab the Catalans' second just after the half-hour mark. Tottenham fans were distraught.

At the interval Tottenham manager Scott Beatson mut have spoke words of wisdom as his side came out firing after the break. Dominating possession and creating chances, Spurs looked the better side now.

In the 74th minute, Rafael Van der Vaart swung in a marvellous free-kick for Dawson to rise highest to and smash home off Barca keeper Victor Valdes. Was a comeback on!? The goal was award as an own goal much to Dawson's disgust. It is certainly one for the dubious goals panel.

Sergio Busquets then hacked down Luka Modric 25 yards out. Gareth Bale then stepped up and smashed a shot into the top right corner to equalise. 2-2.

Surely Tottenham could not fight back for a win; but Van der Vaart disagreed, and with just four seconds on the clock remaining, the Dutchman struck a crucial blow from 30 yards. Goooooooaaaaaaaaaaaallll!!!!! 3-2!!!

Tottenham now lead Group D with 6 points. Stunning come back from the hosts against the best team on the planet.

Assou-Ekotto - Kaboul - Dawson - Hutton
Gomes

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Tottenham had one last mammoth task before the international break: First placed Manchester United at The Lane. On the back of a historical victory over Barcelona, could they do it again? You bet they could!

The games went from end to end; and it was United who came close first when Wayne Rooney grazed the bar with a header. However Tottenham's Peter Crouch showed who was the better finisher with a one-on-one goal in the 75th minute.

United couldn't find an equaliser late on and Spurs walked away with another historical win in the bag. A massive 3 points for Beatson's boys.

West Ham 1 - 0 Tottenham
Cole (12')

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Crouch
Pienaar- Van der Vaart - Dos Santos
Sandro - Modric
Assou-Ekotto - Kaboul - King - Corluka
Gomes

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Back from the international break tonight, Tottenham Hotspur travelled to the other side of London to take on West Ham, expecting to bag the three points. But the home side were about to spoil the party.

With his side taking on Benfica this Wednesday, Scott Beatson decided to rest some key players ahead of the tie. Bale, Defoe and Lennon were left out as Pienaar, Crouch and Dos Santos came in.

In a match that was best summed as "boring", by fans, a lone Carlton Cole chip was enough to see the Hammers run away with the victory.

BarcTottenham have been in fanstastic form of late, knocking down Barcelona and Manchester United in successive matches last week. It was off to Portugal to face Benfica in matchday three.

Back to the Premier League for this one, and it was Spurs travelling to The Molineux to take on a high flying Wolves side.

In not much of a contest, Beatson's side continued their reign at the top of the table with a 2-0 victory. Goals from Ledley King and Jermain Defoe were enough to see off the hosts.

Blackpool 1 - 0 Tottenham
Varney (72')

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Crouch
Rose - Ninis - Dos Santos
Sandro - Petrovic
Bassong - Bartra - Khumalo - Kaboul
Cudicini
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a Carling Cup tie tonight, where we saw Spurs travel to the seaside haven of Blackpool. And it is the Seasiders who are going through after knocking out a young Tottenham side.

Beatson fielded a crop of young players, mixed in with the experience of Crouch, Cudicini and to some extent, Bassong; however they never stepped up. Blackpool's Luke Varney struck the killer blow to send his side through to the next round. Out go Beatson's men.

Tottenham took on Blackpool for the second time this week, this time in the Premier League. Last time out it was the Seasiders who came away the victory but Spurs were not going to have it happen twice - final score 3-0 to the home side.

Defoe, Pienaar and Lennon notched the goals, while a helpless Blackpool side got the run around from Beatson's well diciplined and fresh looking team.

Tottenham have already registered three wins from three matches in the Champions League, and were in no delay to make it four with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Benfica.

Van der Vaart struck one of the goals of the season (if it could beat his strike against Barcelona) with a belter from 35 yards and to the side of the box. Michael Dawson nodded home a corner to seal the win.

Sunderland 2 - 1 Tottenham
Gyan (4', 28') - Vidal (pen 31')

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Crouch
Pienaar - Ninis - Dos Santos
Sandro - Vidal
Assou-Ekotto - Gallas - King - Corluka

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Tottenham suffered their third Premier League loss of the season today as the were beaten 2-1 by Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

A Ledley King mistake lead to the ball dropping at the feet of Gyan. which the Ghanian tucked home to make it 1-0. Gyan scored his second later on to almost put the result beyond doubt, bar a Vidal penalty.

Poor performance from Beatson's side today.

Bassong to Headed Out of The Lane?

Sebastian Bassong is set to leave Spurs in the summer after a furious dressing room bust-up with manager Scott Beatson, The Sun can reveal.

Bassong was singled out for criticism by Beatson in front of his team-mates in the changing room afterwards and hit back by arguing he did not deserved to be blamed for the humiliating defeat.

Hutton was then called in to see Bassong in his office the following day and was given a second, even more vociferous, dressing down but the Camaroonian responded in a more measured manner on that occasion.

Will he be getting the boot in January?
