Okay last season and all previous seasons for that matter my Arsenal team were soo strong in attack and quite weak at the back, finished the season with 30 or so more goals than man city who were second
so i start the new season after bolstering my defence, ive not got a complete squad imo yet now i can only EVER seem to win by 1 goal. im consistently winning which is obv good but its doin my head in that every single match seems to be 1-0 or 2-1.

i havent altered tactics much from last year and my attack consists of:
fabregas
de rossi
gourcuff
diego
ribery
dzeko

and RVP, wilshere, kroos etc on the bench, so iv got the players

any suggestions on scoring more freely?
playing
4-3-2-1 atm

4321 is a very hard formation to get right, with that team id play a 4-2-4 attacking type formation, never used many of those players but use ribery as an inside forward, and gourcuff as an advanced playmaker

i play 4 at the back;
de rossi box to box
fabregas advanced play support
gourcuff advanced attack
ribery+diego wing
dzeko complete/target man

so its 4-3cm-2wing-1 and quite attacking

You're leaking so many goals because you only have one central midfielder out of 3 performing any kind of defensive duties, and barely that. If you're going to play box to box midfielders, you need two of them, otherwise play De Rossi behind Fabregas and Gourcuff.

-------------Fabregas----De Rossi--------(both are B2B)

--Diego------------Gourcuff--------Ribery---
-------------------------Dzeko----------------

or

-----------------------de Rossi-----------------------

-----------Gourcuff-------Fabregas-----------------

--Diego--------------------------------Ribery--------
----------------------Dzeko---------------------------

I use 4-5-1/4-3-3 with Spurs in 2nd season.
My team is:
GK - Gomes (Default)
DEF - Corluka (Auto) King (Defend) Bassong (Defend) Bale (Auto)
DM - Sissoko (Anchor Man)
MC - Palacios (Ball Winning - Defend) Modric (Advanced Playmaker Attack)
AM - Lennon (Winger Attack) Di Maria (Winger Attack)
ST - Defoe (Poacher)

I put defensive line - deep (left drag until first deep kinda fing), tempo - quick (right drag until first quick), counter attack - yes, corners - near post
and closing down - more closing down (cnt remember word but not standin off - the other side lol)
With fluid play starting - balanced but against decent teams i play counter.

Seems to work pretty well with me but youve got a better squad there so im sure u could adapt to that.
My defence is pretty strong and Gomes gets quite alot of clean sheets.

Hope this helps gooner! lol
