Keane would have taken it if he had played.

Defoe can finish penalties, he just fluffed it. The pressure was on to get the winner in injury time and he caved.

It happens, unfortunately.
 
Hmm SSN were showing all his misses since like 2005 this morning though and to be frank, their were quite a lot
 
Who would you have trusted to have taken it? Modric probably would have been the kicker with Keane not available, but of course he wasn't there either.

Crouch was the other striker, and although I rate the guy, I wouldn't ask him to take my penalties, unless Penalty Headers are allowed.
