1. I got this from another forum:

...cutting inside means a winger moves inside when on the ball and moving into channels is moving inside and finding space when off the ball...

Surely you would want your guy to be able to do both and not have one type of attack rule out the other, as one is with the ball and one is without?

Plus, I was told here that moving into channels meant that the attacker pulls the defenders wide. Which is correct?

2. Is there a way to get my boys to move more when off the ball? (other than to hire players with a better off the ball stat). Some games they seem to just let themselves be marked. Would reduce the run with ball slider affect this?

thanks.

i'm not sure what tactics you're playing but there's an option like "more roaming" and "more expressive" for attacking freedom..so if you use them, then your players should have the freedom to move more when they're without the ball. obviously, it would also depend on the quality of players at your disposal. as for the winger thing..you can play an inside forward..which means he cuts inside and also can go wide depending on the situation. if you have an out-and-out one-footed winger hugging the touch line, he will only move into the channels and pull defenders with him (they can be quite devastating if they're quality btw). hope this helps.

Wide players: choose "run into channels", tick "roaming" and he will do both.
Central Striker on "run into channels" and he will go wide into full backs position, but whether the CBs will be pulled wide too, depends on the opposition marking settings.
