2011 UEFA European Under-21 Tournament

Two wrongs don't make a right :)

Even I would have spotted that offside, absolutely horrible linesman play.

Even Helen Keller would have seen that offside.

Walker,Smalling,Jones were the better ones imo Rose was bad...De Gea made a nice save...and to me Spains football is soooo boring.

What a performance from Smalling. And also his attacking move that led to the goal. He is so consistent and hardly had a bad game in a year. MOTM by a mile followed by Walker..

Wait, why are everyone naming ENGLAND players for MOTM? Everyone said SPAIN were dominant up until England scored and now suddently they are the best, right?

No. We are choosing England's MOTM.

Pretty dire game. Not sure what Mancienne was doing on the pitch, such a limited player. Spain for all there possession though created very little. Shame we didn't take Carroll because Welbeck, Sturridge and Sinclair are all similar types of players where as Carroll could of offered something different. Should probably try and start Cleverly on the left, Albrington on the right next game because those two probably have the best delivery, surprised he chose Lansbury ahead of Albrington when it came to subs. Was no surprise really we got better when Rodwell came on, should start next game. Defence was pretty solid throughout, Smalling was very good but Walker was deffo man of the match for England, fantastic dribbler. Thought the service to the strikers was pretty poor today though.

Because Munroe, even if Spain were better than England by a country mile we are all still entitled to our individual opinions. Whether wrong or right.

Kyle Walker MOTM.

Very impressive, surely he'll get games at the Lane this year...Smalling for MOTM though for me. I also don't understand why Cleverley doesn't play more central, he was the only player in the team today capable of an incisive pass, but we couldn't get him on the ball. I'd have liked to have seen a front four of:

Welbeck ----
Rose - Cleverley - Sturridge
I also think some of the Rose criticism is a little harsh, he isn't consistent with his crossing but he did create a bit in the first half, and he is a very willing tracker, he works hard for the team. I'd have prefered to see Sinclair start but Rose is still a decent replacement.

Couldn't watch the match as had other stuff to do, but what was the scoreline and who won?

Oh. Yay ;)

Suppose drawing against Spain is sort of winning ;)

It definitely feels like a point gained rather than two lost, especially with Welbeck equalising in the 88th minute. Ander scored for Spain from a flicked on corner, and both goals were more than dubious. Happy with a point though

Almost correct there.

Walker MOTM by a mile followed by Smalling.

Walker was beaten by Mata quite a few times in the first half, Smalling was faultless. Smalling for England MoTM, Martinez for overall MoTM.
