So because he is a goal threat we can talk about him being the best CB around?
As i said after he isn't too bad at the defending lark too........ All round i think he's quality, football is made of big moments and he contributes to them.

He is a striker, no doubt about it but he missed more chances than Sturridge did this tournament. And they were a lot clearer

Not sure if anyones said it but Italy manager Prandelli resigned. Respect to him for doing it. Shame Hodgson won't do the same.
He did and i do think he is out of form right now and not helped when he is pushed around multiple positions. I rate Sturridge and in a side which create 20+ chances per game like Liverpool do he will score. England will never be able to do that on a consistent basis. I saw a lot of the Chelsea Sturridge today, dropping really deep coming out wide and hitting everything even if players were in better positions.
I agree with Rooney but i think it is slightly harsh on Sturridge. Majority of the season he has took his chances at Liverpool and rarely been guilty of missing many
I think the Sturridge thing along with the rest of the Liverpool cronies in the England squad reviled its secret this tournament. Luis Suarez! Without him it just doesn't work properly.
Hilarious. The secret?
Brendan Rodgers instead of Roy Hodgson
It doesn't matter what players we have when we play under Hodgson's dinosaur tactics and philosophy. :\
Wouldn't even say that, Rodgers would have played the same system wouldn't he? We just have not got the players do to that yet. Now we have 2 years in a fairly easy Euro qualifying group to change a system if we want too but we need the right manager and players to be able to do this.
Absolutely not, you need to watch Liverpool
Gerrard is almost a third CB, allowing the full backs to be wingbacks giving us more width and allowing Henderson more freedom. Of course Suarez helps, he is the best striker in the world but the tactics were horrible and the players suffered because of it
It may be FM - but this is realistic: http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/share-download-fm-14-tactics/162460-jps-blitz-tactic-14-3-1-a.html
I've often thought the narrow diamond would suit the players we have allowing us to play our best players in their favoured positions.

But that's part of our problem, England is not Liverpool! We always try to copy someone and it never works! England do not have an identity they just go round trying to copy people and its laughable.
I agree we need our own identity But Hodgson seemed confused in his approach, by just putting Gerrard alongside Henderson you cant expect their Liverpool performances
and on this occasion the diamond seemed to suit England quite well with their players
If Roy stuck with his pragmatic ways which made us qualify for the tournament in the first place we wouldn't be in the departure lounge right now so i blame him for giving in to the medias demands.
