2014 World Cup thread

Actually said i didn't think Belgium would pull up any trees yet. Think they are far too unbalanced with 0 natural full backs and playing attacking mids in centre mid plus a coach i believe is not good enough to manage a group of players that good. Was very happy to see Fellaini score, have always said he needs to be in the box no good as a centre mid far better attacking things.

I don't think Fred will be getting any passes from Neymar after that. I'm not sure what Fred was trying to do.

Im still not sure how Paulinho get's into this Brazil side ahead of Fernandinho, Ramires (first game) and Hernanes

Still yet to see what he offers

He is the only box to box midfielder Brazil have. In the Confederations Cup he was superb. You need to watch his work rate more and how he closes down opponents. He also has nmot had a break from when he was playing in Brazil to his transfer to Tottenham and in between played in the confederations cup.

Really not impressed with Brazil so far this World Cup. Luck from key decisions won them the first game and they have been hugely uninspiring in this game as well

Fernandinho is twice the player he is in my opinion

Fair enough but you are underestimating him too much.

I like him as a player, and the season at Spurs probably has not helped him but the Brazilian side is lacking serious attacking threat at the moment and Paulinho is one that should be sacrificed

An attempt that is straight at the goalkeeper and its the best thing since sliced bread. Ochoa has been good but ****** ****.

So this is the best that Brazil could do? With home advantage? I'm quite disappointed to be honest, I thought they would win this World Cup.

Ochoa's been decent but most shots were straight at him to be honest. Embarrassing attempts by Brazilians to force a penalty again, can't look at that **** anymore, hope they bust out of the group.

I'm really impressed with Mexico... whenever I see them they have so much energy and considering the players they have, I think they are a credit to this tournament, they play good football.

Why? This is like such an average Brazil team... just when you look at it on paper alone.

The squad they have is really solid, but it does lack something extra that would give them an edge in tight games. Neymar alone certainly isn't enough. Far too full of himself and focused on self-promotion more then anything else. Every world champion I remember had at least one player that was undeniably the best in the world in his position. Neymar isn't even the best in Barcelona.
