2014 World Cup thread

And one final thing, Roy Hodgson the ****** fool. Stating Suarez is not yet world class in a press conference prior to the game

What do you expect to happen Roy!?

I will be positive about one thing, i genuinely think we have a lot of good youngsters coming through. But these youngsters will thrive on attacking, fluent, direct football and I dont think Hodgson is the man for that, and i never did.

Slight consolation is the fact we have been the better side in both games and i think the neutrals would agree, it just comes down to silly defensive errors and the taking of chances!

I wouldn't say a lot of youngsters.... a lot of them will suffer anyway because they won't get the desired games.

Jones,Smalling,Lallana,Wilshere,Welbeck,Sturridge,Barkley,Sterling,Walker,Shaw,Henderson,Stones,Cylne,Hughes,Ward Prowse,Zaha,Redmond,Caulker,Hart,Butland,Powell,ChalobahChambers,The Ox,Walcott,Townsend,Dier,M Keane,Wilson,Flanagan.

Some top players there for the future!

I think we have personally.

Wilshere, Barkley, Sterling, Shaw, Ox, Walcott, Sturridge, Lallana to name a few. Although some of them are older, they still have many years with the national side and will get regular football at club level

Looking forward to seeing hopefully James Wilson for United getting a chance in the first team next season under Van Gaal :)

He looks a real talent.

Yeh... well we do have a fair few tbf... it just depends how much they play.

England have the worst luck of any nation in these tournaments I think, Diego Godin should of been long gone before any of that late drama happened.

Still gutted... always takes me to another level with England and I really wish it didn't >.<

Ok I was feeling down about England BUT....

Mario Balotelli @FinallyMario · 42m

If we beat Costa Rica i want a kiss, obviously on the cheek, from the UK Queen.

If Japan can find the quality to put the final product on their attacking moves they should win this, because Greece are now down to ten.

Might as well throw my England two pence in here. For me it was inevitable this was going to happen. Everyone wanting England to play this attacking brand of football and expected us to be able to do it within 6 months playing only a handful of friendly games. Taking young and out of form players to this World Cup with the thought "we will groom them for Euro 2016". It doesn't and shouldn't work like that, tournaments are for the here and now simple as that!

England have a pretty easy Euro 2016 qualifying group so why not blood the young lads in over them two years playing this new style with a manager who is not pragmatic, surely that makes more sense? The FA royally ****** up when it comes to JT and Cole, i was delighted when both retired because England fans and the FA do not deserve them.

Now onto changes and nothing major will change until the English FA reduce the prices of coaching badges so this country can have a good number of them compared to the rest of Europe. More coaches=more kids coached=more kids learning different things ******* SIMPLE! That will take decades but there are problems elsewhere which stand in our way. The obvious divide within the players somewhat driven by the media. How many years have the media forced this Gerrard vs Lampard debate? And they are a massive problem too, no other countries media want to see their country fail and always look for the negatives before we have even kicked a ball. Lets not forget they too also wanted England to play this expansive game so any articles they write tomorrow slating the team would be contradicting themselves (something they live by anyway)! I would then turn my attention to the England fans, the main reason i stopped going to England games and lost a lot of my love for them. The average lower league supporter who goes to England in hope to see some good football (as he rarely see's is, not slating just the truth) and when he doesn't get it turns on the players. I'm currently watching Japan vs Greece and have yet to see one Japan flag with Urawa Reds or a Greece flag with Olympiakos printed across them. Hence what i said earlier, divide and whether we all like to admit it or not we are all Club before country.

Oh give it a rest already with everyone is against Chelsea bollocks. Terry isn't even the best CB in his own team, and Cole couldn't win competition for first squad with Azpilicueta who played out of position.

They're both old and smell funny, deal with it.

Terry was our best centre back last season and just because Cole wasn't our first choice doesn't mean he shouldn't be England's! And where did i say everyone was against Chelsea then? I didn't!

Cole should of went, Baines isn't good enough in my opinion and Luke Shaw should be in against Costa Rica.

Terry retired from international football anyway so nothing to discuss regarding whether he should be there or not, plus he's a **** so meh.
