2014 World Cup thread

Redknapp had six months to get QPR out of the relegation zone. He spent millions in the January transfer window. Errr he was in charge when they went down. So yes he was responsible.

We'll agree to disagree.

I love Suarez. I love his passion for the game. I would have him on my team everyday of the week. I am also aware you can't defend him here.

All things considered I'd rather receive a bite than a leg breaking challenge. Whilst he should be punished, it is not the end of the world.

@Joey7Barton
He's a winner. If that means he occasionally steps over the line between right and wrong, than thats what comes with the territory...

He's just a huge troll really. I agree about rather receiving a bite than a broken leg but its hardly relevant .

Also he got away without any ban when he punched some Chilean(?) player during qualifiers.

Wish we still had players like Keane, Gattuso, Vieira to sort players like him.

I'd go more further back than that and say Chopper Harris!!!!! Suarez would be lucky to have 2 working legs!

In a postgame interview with Uruguay’s Channel 10, Suarez said: “These are just things that happen out on the pitch. It was just the two of us inside the area and he bumped into me with his shoulder, and that’s how my eye got like this as well.
“There are things that happen on the pitch and you should not make such a big deal out of them.”

I think he is forgetting a major part of his actions on the pitch.

Playing the victim, too much to say here!!!

I say the same all the time, he doesn't even think this. He says things because he likes to be in the limelight.

On the Redknapp thing he will never be England manager and there is a reason for that. His career reads as this Bournemouth (in debt), West Ham (in debt), Portsmouth (in debt), Southampton (in debt and relegated from the top flight for the first time in 27 years), Portsmouth (spent lots of money in january to keep them up), Spurs (done well but spent loads of money doing so) and QPR (relegated after spending lots of money on players on massive wages including Chris Samba on 100k a week!!!)

You can't sign players when you are England manager, and his career has not been that great. There is a reason he has never and will never manage a top English side.

I honestly reckon we should just go back to hiring foreign managers ... Plenty of good options out there. I seriously wouldn't mind AVB, Martinez or Prandelli

And I was hoping for Iran to win and then do the impossible by qualifying to the next round after Greece's win. Guess I dreamt too big.

I think the two favourites Argentina and Brazil have looked quite poor for most the tournament so far
