Nigeria's turn today to protest over money. Players have refused to train.

BBC Sport understands the players believe they are each $15,000 short of the bonus they were expecting for reaching the last 16 in Brazil.

They refused to train in Campinas on Thursday and officials later confirmed the session had been cancelled.

I just don't get why they can't do all this **** after the WC is over. The likes of Mikel, Odemwingie, Moses, Omeruo and Enyeama probably earn that much amount in a week, maybe even a few days at their respective clubs. Things like refusing to train is just disgraceful to the millions of Nigerians back home

Agreed that not everyone in the Nigeria squad might earn much and to some, $15k might be a load of dosh but their are better ways of handling it surely?

Well, now they do have alot of Goodwill because they're still in the tournament and better bargaining position then when they lose next round and people are disappointed.

What's bugging me is that their FA can't pay out... then don't put it in the contracts :S

Anyone else think brazil chile is a bit tasty tomorrow I actually think chile could win anyone else think they could too?

Was very surprised to see that Holland have actually committed the most fouls so far. Even more than Hondura! And Greece have been on the end of the most fouls with their ultra-defensive game-plan. Wtf

Why do people still thinks that Greece is ultra defensive.... This is not 2004 anymore. The only game they played defensive was the 0-0 against Japan and that is because they are playing with 10 men for most of the game.

Definitely, in fact I'd say Chile are probably my favourites for that game.
Yeah kind of my thinking, should really stay away from it betting wise but think im gunna have a little dabble on chile because last time I checked they were 21/4 (random odds) and i think that is huge

I believe they only scored one-two goals in the group stages so it's not a unfair presumption to make. Maybe they just suck up front

Call me conspiratard but I fully expect Brazil to be carried by refs at least to the semis.

Might be one of those tournaments where they never look impressive but still somehow win it

******* ****, Uruguayans really believe that Suarez was banned because of English media and FIFA conspiracy..

Its really pathetic. Oscar Tabarez resigning from the FIFA technical committee. Murmurs of them threatening to pull out of the World Cup. Their papers didn't even mention the 'bite' and he was greeted as a hero on his return home. If Rooney had bit someone and got sent home before a crucial knock-out clash, the English media would have killed him. Not doing Suarez any good at all

If anyone has the right to feel aggrieved over the incident, it's probably Liverpool and their fans. Although credit to those lot, I have seen many who understand that the ban is justified and is the cost of having a player like Suarez in your team

He is made to feel as if he is a victim here, whole Uruguayan team, FA, Manager and media are saying as if he was banned for nothing.

Hope they **** off from WC..

Thats the problem. Not sure about Ajax but everytime he has done something stupid while in England, he was always made to feel like the victim. When he was racist to Evra, Liverpool players wore those stupid home-made shirts to support him and protect him. Then he refuses to shake the hand of Evra afterwards which clearly showed that he had deluded himself into thinking that he had done no wrong

Then he bit Ivanovic. Now everyone came out and said how he was a little boy who lost his temper at times. How he would improve and behave better. Painted this whole image of him as being a reformed character after he came back from the ban. Again he probably thought he had done no wrong and had a needless go at the English media after the England-Uruguay game saying how their was this whole conspiracy against him and this was his revenge

Then hilariously, he does the same **** the next game. Uruguay come and put their arms around him saying how it's all a conspiracy and the ban is excessive blah blah blah. Again Suarez will probably delude himself into believing that he has done no wrong. What are the odds on him ******* up for the 4th time?

At this point, you really fear what is going on in Suarez' mind when he sees all these reactions. Does he truly feel remorse for what he has done or has he deluded himself into this whole 'conspiracy' bullshit again

You judge a team's playstyle by how they play, not merely by how many goals they scored. In the 3-0 thumping they received from Colombia they had as many shots as them and were actually the team with higher amount of possession. They beat Ivory Coast and outscoring them in an open game. And they scored as many goals as England. Just because they have incompetent strikes such as Samaras and Gekas doesn't mean they are ultra defensive.

It is not just about the shots on goal. The build up play is painfully slow and laborious. I am not saying they are ultra defensive but definitely been the most boring team to watch this World Cup considering other teams play a fast counter attack.

I wouldn't be so harsh. Its quite possible local TV has simply manipulated the images. I've seen this happen before. People on the internet always used to rage at me every time I mentioned Scholes scoring with handball vs. Poland in 1999. I couldn't understand why, until I found some highlights from English TV and it turned out the frame where he hits the handball just wasn't there. It literally vanished. But if you look through highlights with polish commentary the handball is there, clear as day.
