2014 World Cup thread

Im still amazed Costa Rica got out the group. They done very well but they are still nothing more than an average side

Hey, I'll take an average and incredibly well organised and motivated side over the side packed with talent but less well organised and motivated every time. It's how Hull and Palace overperformed this season in the Prem, and it's how Greece won the Euros in 2004.

I absolutely agree, personnel in a squad means little with proper structure and organisation

It's crazy how much it is vital. ****, even take Ferguson: at only one or two points in his career did he have clearly the best squad in the league in terms of talent. His final five or so years consisted of holding together a completely disjointed team so well they looked far better than the sum of their parts.

Those kind of ramshackle, held together on a hope and a prayer type of teams are my favourites.

Kinda reminds me of the quite ... Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard enough :)

Holland have looked poor today. Mexico have been much the better side. A lot more energy and movement, pulling the dutch side all over the pitch.

Should of defo been a peno there to Holland twice actually but think Mexico should of had 1 earlier, suppose 2 wrongs don't make a right.

If I was LVG I would take off Kuyt and put Blind at LWB bring on Fer and put him just infront of back 4 would be mor balanced and dynamic down the left. Then later on would take off Sneijder and bring on Depay and go 433 if still not working.

Whatever Ochoa had for breakfast, I ******* want some
