Actually you will be suprised what is going on now. They have taken the steps to follow the German design. Not alot has been made of it but the FA are really getting to grips with the grass roots now.

Edit. It is aimed at 12-13 year olds at the moment with the academies but will be a few years before we see a decent lot of youngsters with the technical abilities. Germany did it in 2000 and now they have a World Cup. Trouble is how long are our fans and press likely to be that patient.

Doesn't matter hardly what's happening at grassroots when all the money is at the top and all the foreigners coming into the English game.

Sure it's great for the Premier League, but I'm old-school and I want the England National team and English players to be thought of first in the English game..... clearly isn't the case anymore, probably won't be ever again either with all the money about who's going to stop it?
 
Messi had a half decent game, its his teammats in attack that were awful. Their movement was atrocious. Can't count how many times Messi had opportunity to pass someone to great opportunity and they just wouldnlt make the run. No idea why Higuain and Lavezzi were taken off so early - their replacements were **** poor. If they'd stay on the pitch, Argentina would knick it I think. Maybe they had injures or something.

Messi had a good game, I think. Argentina's only good attacks came through him despite him being triple marked at times. In that situation, he's creating shortfalls in the rest of the pitch despite not being able to effect it directly, but as you said his teammates did **** all apart from miss good opportunities and **** around.
