In my current save Yaya Toure is 33 years of age almost 34 and has just broken his foot in an away game at Chelsea, already some of his stats have begun to decrease over the last year or so and now he is going to be out for 6 months. His contract is almost up, is it worth renewing the contract (highest paid player) or just letting him leave on a free now.

If he's out until the end of the season when his contracts up offer him mutual consent as this may be less than what you'd have to pay in his wages over this time when he's injured and not playing. He's only going to get worse so let him go and move on

Let him leave, he is only going to get worse from now on.

Likely that he will crumble into nothing with a broken foot as well, i had a player who was 31 and broke his leg, went from 4* ability to 2*.
