352 D-WING (match engine breaker)

Finally the moment you have been waiting for, this tacticwill create buckets of chances and goals, this tactic will also remaindefensively sound with the use of opposition instructions and playerinstructions.
Firstly I will apologise for the lack of pics, to be honestI do not know how to put them in the post like some other people on this site,so to overcome this I will attach a word document along with the tactic to readwith the pictures in the correct places and viewable.

History of thetactic: attempted to recreate the match engine breaker from the previous game Icreated from scratch (check it out? sorry in wrong year but oh well), on thisversion of the game it didn?t work as well as before, i.e. too inconsistent andleaking goals from all over, played 8 different games and in a Middlesbroughsave in the first 20 games had 15 different tactics used and im not justtalking tweaks but total overhaul, after studying the match engine extensivelyI came to the conclusion that wingers are way too effective not to exploit, butthe question remains how to get the strikers to score. After trying everycombination of 1 2 and 3 strikers I found that two is better than 1 or 3 nomatter what the support and 3 in the middle of the park just makes commonsense, finally the defenders, after watching teams play against me with 3 CBsand the effectiveness of ball retention compared to previous versions of thegame and with this the jigsaw was complete now was for the tweaking and findingthe optimal formula for success.

The tactic:

The formation is a 3-5-2 with defensive wingers, the playerspecific instructions is the key to negate the enemy, however for now I willfocus on the shape of the tactic, the GK is always short passing to thedefenders however will occasionally play the long ball to strikers, in defencethe defenders will spread wide to support attacks but as soon as possession islost straight back into the solid wall, the central of the three will attackthe ball to snuff out attacks before they start.
Themidfield is compact with short risk free passes being the order of the day, theDLP will orchestrate the midfield aiding in possession retention and smartthrough balls when presented, the two central mids do all of the ?dirty work?with being instrumental in both attacking and defending along with thedefensive wingers where this tactic really does exploit the flaws in the matchengine. These payers will attack in a line from midfield and drop back in as ateam however, the defensive wingers are mainly wing back without requiring thedefensive qualities, short passing again allows for gradual *build up ratherthan hit and run although pace is essential in this role.
Thestrikers will almost do as they please, allowed to shoot more often but rarelydo so outside the area due to the approach of the team, they will both dropdeep to collect the ball, stay on the last defender with the ball in the airand chase any clearances or through balls, the reasoning for having bothproviding a multi-purpose is to keep the opposition guessing and not to isolateor restrict the flow of the team.

I know from research into other tactics on this and otherwebsites that people generally like to keep this as short as possible, howeverI believe that all of these complement each other and the tactic is unstoppableit this point, for example the defensive line was the most difficult torectify, pushing higher up left me vulnerable at the back and conceded goals anddropping even deeper resulted in loss of possession leaving blank was similarto this with possession and chances created for those who don?t like to playdeeper however this ensures that the defence when in possession makes it to thehalf way line and doesn?t drop into the penalty area too early when defending, best of both worlds? I think so!!!
The key:
The key to this tactic is very simple which is the beauty ofit,
ONCE INTO THE GAME HAVE ALL POTENTIAL ATTACKING PLAYERS I.E.FULL BACKS, ALL OF MID AND ATTACK SET TO CLOSE DOWN, TIGHT MARK, HARD TACKLEAND SHOW TO WEAK FOOT. AFTER GO TO PLAYER INSTRUCTIONS, SELECT BOTH WINGERS ANDSELECT MARK SPECIFIC PLAYER AND CHOOSE
THE OPPOSING WINGER OR HIGHEST WIDE PLAYER.

Stats (my favouritepart):
clip_image015.jpg
I have just currentlyfinished first season with Vauxhall motors in Skrill North and will first showresults before I created this tactic.

Funny right!!!!!!
clip_image018.png
Nowresults from the rest of the season with the kicker of promotion through theplayoffs which for a team predicted to finish bottom is fantastic.

I will state that the only players brought into the teamwhere 16-18 year old potential future for the club, and they do featureprominently in the team with 7 of starting eleven being under age of 18.

Here are some stats from the standout games from the leagueincluding a 7-0 playoff semi-final win from a 1-1 draw in first leg.

clip_image022.png

Histon finished top of the league and this was towards theend of the season big shock result but not to me lol

FA cup 3rd round of qualifying, Bradford PA 3rdin league at this point and 4th game using the tactic
clip_image030.png

This was the penultimate game of the season and after thefirst leg I was worried about getting turned over? clearly not!!!!

Key attributes forrole:
For a prem team all key attributes should be over 14
GK: savethe ball end of. Reflexes, positioning, one-on-ones, handling, kicking is abonus and eccentricity low
LCB/RCB: quickwith a beastly tackle, works harder that regular CBs. Stamina, work rate, tackling, marking, positioning, acceleration and strength (being tall and goodin the air is also desired)
CB: theman mountain, tallest of the three CBs (above 190cm tall) exceptional in allphysical stats and impossible to get beat in the air, general defensiveattributes are required with jumping heading anticipation being the mostimportant
DLP: thecreator of the team, starts almost all attack with simple passes forward andholding possession with the diamond with the defenders, passing, creativitystamina and work rate with general defensive attributes desired
BBM: thework horse of the team, needs to be able to do everything well with stamina andwork rate being the key to the success of this position
DW: similarto the BBM these players will be up and down all day, with the added kicker ofneeding to be quick to cover all of this ground without the support of adefensive full back, as stated earlier this player will not tackle wingers assuch just harass them into a mistake or block the pass/shot/cross.Acceleration, pace, stamina, work rate, dribbling, off the ball, decent inother attacking aspects and don?t worry about defensive qualities not needed,as a foot note on this stamina and work rate are better than pace if strugglingfor all
CF: needto do just about everything well, however works best if both physical beastsand less on finesse attributes. Strength, acceleration, off the ball, firsttouch, finishing, composure, long shots are a bonus but the higher the attributethe more likely they are to shoot from range and waste a god opportunity.
Final note on player selection is a preference of mine whichis I prefer a taller stronger in all central positions, in mid if tall thepossession is easier to win from both goal kicks, up front I prefer a strongtall quick poacher type who from a purely statistical viewpoint able to get tothe ball first hold it up or flick it on, IT JUST MAKES SENSE OVER THE COURSEOF A SEASON. If a mid has 15 passing and creativity but is only 175 tall I willspecifically go for a taller player who has 13 on each, this is how much Ibelieve physicality wins football matches. And as for FM this even more true.

Please comment with any questions and please post with any feedback on the tactic in the form of season reviews and such like. Anyway hope you all enjoyed reading this and enjoy using thetactic even more!!!!!

Firstly, I'm not gonna insult the tactic as I've not tried it yet, I agree with your philosophy so I'm gonna try when my current season ends. I'd advise you learn how to do screen shots, as it'd get your tactic much more interest. SI are releasing a patch this week supposedly so it'd probably right any match engine issues you exploit so be warned. I'll give this tactic a go and post my results afterwards

nice so far so good.. 3 games 3 wins...Rotating it with my own tactic.. but used this against ManCity and Chelsea both won..
Well there is no "short option corner bug" and i must say i like the football my team plays using this..

Firstly i would like to again apologise for the lack of pics in post but u shud check out the word doc. It has pics in. Secondly i told you this works and wot team are u using n screen shots if possible

Oh and i dont think the update will do too much damage to the tactic due to simplicity of the tactic.

Have you tried without this? I'm just playing without and crushing winning 7-0, 3-0, 3-0 so far. I know that's few games, so that's why I ask if you have tried it.

Gonna give this a try with my donny rovers side, as my away tactic,Just cant get a result away from home.
Thanks for sharing pal.

started a new save with catania, not using OI I got 9W 1D 0L in first 10 games (Draw 0-0 away vs Juventus)

Which training buddy ?

ehm, just realised i forgot to change it after pre-season. so 80% only tactic and 20% very hard physical training

yes yes ive always wanted a 3atb tactic that works, ill give it a try but not sure which team to use :P

firstly grats on making what looks like a very good tactic.
but, what exactly is it about it that makes it a "match engine breaker"?
out of curiousity :D

yes tried without the OI and PI but when watching the game especially for the lower teams the cover from the wingers is lacking without the man marking and as for the opp instructions, these are generally for lower teams but if the team is decent or good quality for their respective league then these aren't required either, the reason for the key note in the post is for a fail safe method to win football matches regardless of team or opposition. finally I would love for you guys to spread the word and get this tactic to the masses, also uploads of screenshots would be fantastic to see how your getting on with the tactic

for a prem team I like a challenge so any team predicted 15th or worse or Southampton is decent choice all round, my tactic training ground however is Middlesbrough, great stadium and facilities n not predicted for promotion, strange how I am a spurs fan and never play as them, might have to this year very exciting squad

reason for a claim of a match engine breaker is due to the exploits in different areas of the pitch i.e. the wingers I manage to perform the role of winger and full back in one player allowing for more force in other areas, second is the strikers, having both move in tandem is an exploit of poor defending however other tactics struggle to get strikers to score and this is because they can become very predictable and the AI will mark accordingly no such trouble with this mixture however. again with three at the back they perform like full backs supporting attack from very deep without the restriction of being rigid and less involved. hope this helps pal

thats all good and well, I dont think these are exploits that make it game breaking, however I think it is very intelligent use of player roles, this shape was going to be my next project but you have done brilliantly with this and I wont need to make it now :D

ps, you will probably be pm'd to add the corner bug in the share centre xD which will make it more potent in attack :D

well done to ya

There is a bug that allows a player to get a free shot/cross if the corner is taken short and the positioning is set up correctly of the others
