I'm with Southampton as well, in my 3rd season (28 Dec 2013), currently 2nd behind tottenham. Doing great! Winner in my 1 season. Second season won the League Cup, runners-up in the FA Cup and 9th in the Premier League. Needed to toughen up my defense this summer and did so! My back four are;
Handanovic
Ivanovic/Hinkel, Samba, Muniesa/Chambers, Gibbs(loan)

Also, i won a tough Europa League group, topping off Zenit, Dortmund and Valencia!

CB- have you looked at vertonghen and alderweield. Grant Hanley always played well in my Blackburn save.
RB- vrsaljko or davide santon
CM- Ross Barkley or surprisingly jason Lowe. Lowe worked really hard and earned a spot for most games in my Blackburn save including a Europa league final against schalke even tho I had players like Barkley,thiago,tiote and n'zonzi. N'Zonzi is a really good player as well.

Did you get adler on a free? I'm Southampton in my first season and I'm gonna finish first and I've already won the league cup beating Everton 4-0 in the final. I'd definatley look at getting him if he is interested.

yes i did, i would highly recommend him hes been player of the season for 2 seasons now!
