Whatever team I manage on FM I always seem to have the same problem. On almost all prematch meetings it says the team I am playing against do well against teams who play 4-4-2. Last season I was Sheffield Wednesday and this season I am Chesterfield and I'd guess at about 90% of the matches I've played with both teams the opposition has done well against 4-4-2 and I find it really hard to even draw my games.

I know I could use a different formation but 4-4-2 provides the most balance across the pitch whilst my 2 other preffered formations (4-5-1 and 4-3-3) leave me short in either attack or midfield.

So does anybody know how I can still play 4-4-2 but not let the opposition walk all over me?

The only thing I can think of is having players with high work rate, aggression and positioning etc. so the other team can't just pass around my players but being in league 2 makes it hard to find good players.
