4-5-1 Targetman Striker

Do people play a lone targetman striker? or does it make more sense to play that in 4-4-2?

it would be better to play 4-4-2 imo, have a poacher and a support target man.

Yeah I keep hearing about that, but what if my MC and wingers have pretty decent finishing?

it's up to you, but if i was to play 4-4-2 i'd play that.

It all depends on the players that you have to support your target man. And the quality of the target man himself. Either system will work, depending on those two factors. Khouma Babacar for instance is an absolute animal as a lone target man, but also works just as well with a poacher along side him. So in answer to your question, yes... a lone target man does work... if the set up is right.
