I've seen some challenges where they join the team at the bottom of the league and then trying to avoid relegation. I might create another manager in my save and just try and help teams to get them higher up the table.
The way that I see it, I would check teams that fire their manager and help that team to improve their results, I would only be looking at teams at the lower end of the table to provide a real challenge. At the end of the season I'll then leave and wait for another club. Barca is fun but there's no real challenge with a club that size.

Thinking of finishing the Barca season and trying out a team in the 2nd division of a country that's available to me.

Am in a big battle with Real, we both almost don't lose any points, Real just lost a game so I can get ahead by 2 points again hopefully.
 
Switched to reading, predicted 19th, came 6th! Top goalscorers in the league and my striker was top goalscorer too (as they always are in this tactic).

Did it with loan players and a few good signings but a lot of the team remained the same. Reached the Carabao cup final but unfortunately lost, but we beat a lot of the big teams along the way.

Overall i'm happy with the season. Now to see if we can improve!!

Finished the Barca season.

Won the Liga BBVA
Got knocked out by Milan in the 1st round KO in the CL
Got knocked out by Girona in the Quarter Final of the Spanish Cup

All in all not my best season but I resigned and have now joined FC Lienden. In my save they are currently playing in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie (Dutch 2nd league).
My goal is to first aim to win the Dutch Eredivisie and hopefully after that build up a team that can challenge for the CL.

My start with FC Lienden has been impressive so far. I'll make a screenshot later. So far I'm battling for 1st with not the best players really, most of the players are alright but the striker I have almost doesn't score any goals. Scouting around for a new striker to buy at the Winter break.

UPDATE:

Still battling for 1st with FC Lienden, got a striker on a free transfer that has started banging them in for me as the striker that I used before him was not really scoring so I replaced him.

Unfortunately, the TV I use for my PC decided that it had enough so have to wait for a replacement before I can continue my career again with Lienden.

@stuartclark16 can I ask what do you think is your best tactic? 4222 or 4231? thank you so much
 
Finished with FC Lienden in 3rd. Unfortunately I didn't get promoted to the Eredivisie.

We were getting incredibly inconsistent at the end of the season. Now I have switched to the 4222 IF BBM tactic to hopefully get a little more stability, especially with 2 STs.
I'll post on my progress on that thread.

Hey mate. I look forward to the update on that thread. I do prefer the 4222 as you get much better numbers I find. The CAM can be inconsistent

Hey stuart, unfortunately after playing a few games with the 4222, I already went back to the 4231. My Lienden team just doesn't work with 4222. We're barely creating any chances and mostly drawing or losing games.

Now with the 4231 I'm back to being almost unbeatable, except for a few games where I just couldn't score and got a goal scored against me.
I decided to improve my 4231 team to get better results, like getting better defenders to try and decrease my losing games and so far it's been working great with my new players.

Sounds good man, not all tactics work for all teams- It definitely depends on the squads
 
i think 4231 gegenpress is an omnipotent overpowered tactic in fm19, no matter the version
