Welcome to my attempt number 2 at a story here on FM Base. Having grown tired of many many saves and as it approaches the new season and Euros, I recently discovered my old CM4 disk and it took me back down memory lane with some of the legendary Wonderkids from the game so I decided to quickly screenshot 10 of my personal favourites and re-enter them into FM16 using their CM4 starting stats with 100CA and -10PA. Here is the full list and how they appear as 14 year olds in game. I will be simming for 10 to 20 seasons to see how they develop.

Freddy Adu
The human definition of Football Manager wonderkid, where else could I start but with Freddy Adu. Freddy is back at DC United and might actually get that big break he was promised as a 13 year old in CM4.View attachment 147058

Calvin Zola Mokongo
Calvin Zola was another favourite of mine and many players of CM4 back in the day. His physical stats are incredible and could grow into a Shearer type idol on Tyneside.View attachment 147057

Alexander Farnerud
This guy was a must have for any team in CM4. He always grew into a world class player like his Swedish teammate Kim Kallstrom. Will he become a world class player and become the new star of the Swedish team once Zlatan is gone?View attachment 147056

Mark Kerr
This guy was a monster with his work rates, determination and was just an all round brilliant midfielder back in CM4. Will he remain loyal to Falkirk? Does he have the ability to make the big time?View attachment 147052

Neil Mellor
Destined for greatness on Merseyside, Neil Mellor was going to be the new Fowler or Owen but a series of injuries led to a average career and early retirement. Will there be a new 'God' in Anfield?View attachment 147049

Cherno Samba
Admit it, you definitely bought him back in the day. After scoring 100 odd goals for Millwall youths Cherno seemed destined to be the next big thing for English football but again a career of travelling and poor performances led to early retirement. Can Cherno make it now in the modern era?View attachment 147048

Julius Aghahowa
The man who did the backflips :p I don't know much about his real life career but in CM4 Aghahowa was incredible. Fair enough he missed a fair share of his chances but the pace was frightening. Can he deliver more consistently?View attachment 147046

Diego Armando Maradona
Little Diego. Diego Maradona's son of the same name obviously had a massive reputation to live up to and claimed it never effected him as a player but given a chance all over again will he do for the Azzurri what his father done for Argentina?View attachment 147045

Lasha Chelidze
My favourite CM4 signing. What a defender, even from just 16years Lasha could line out for your first team and still perform. Who'll be after this Georgian wonderkid? Does he even exist in real life? (Not sure tbh)View attachment 147044

Todor Gospodinov
Dunno if too many of you will remember this Bulgarian beast but I always made him one of my first signings on a free transfer. The guy always developed into a world class striker. Who's going to take him on?View attachment 147043

As said previously this will be a 10 to 20 year story to track these guys development. I will provide updates from each end of season (May 30th) and end of English transfer windows (Sept 1st and Feb 1st).

Nothing really of note happening, all players signed pre contract agreements with their clubs. Gospodinov being linked with Brighton heavily and Cherno Samba has 24 goals in 19 games for u18/u21 and broke the League Cup and Millwall youngest goalscorer record.

No real movements in terms of transfers, most of the players are now capped at u19/u21 level and have become youngest players for their clubs. Gospodinov after being linked with Brighton will now be moving to Man City in 2017 and Cherno Samba is just scoring a ridiculous amount of goals at youth level living up to his real life hype as a youngster.

Here is the end of season 1 for the 10 CM wonderkids. As you can see Kerr and Gospodinov will move in 2017 to bigger clubs but for me Cherno Samba is going to be the biggest thing in the game. He scored an incredible 81 goals in 91 non competitive matches and is wanted by everyone in Europe. I'm actually going to skip straight to the May 2018 update as I feel nothing major will happen until the players hit 16/17/18 and can move clubs.

There's been a few movements with Man City picking up Farnerud and Gospodinov, Maradona is on the way to Villa and Adu is off to Mexico next with Pachuca and Chelidze is moving to Lazio eventually and Kerr is at Watford. Still yet to see Cherno Samba make the move and the goals look to be drying up as he moves into the senior ranks at Millwall.

Aghahowa is a wanted man and is beginning to really catch fire with his goals. He is now the proud record holder for youngest goalscorer in Europa and Champions League a big move to Spain or France seems likely. Farnerud has made his City debut and continues to play well, Gospodinov could also be heading to Spain, Mellor and Zola are slowly ticking away at their clubs and seem unlikely to move, Maradona is playing away for Villa, Kerr is getting the occasional game for Watford, Adu and Chelidze are still waiting to make their moves to new clubs and Cherno Samba is racking up the appearances for Millwall but hasn't moved and has only 7 league goals.

Some of those wonder kids look amazing! Also quick question: what does setting the PA to -10 do exactly? I've seen quite a few people do that in threads before or in experiments in fm and never quite understood what that did.

It'll give the player a randomly assigned PA between 180 and 200.

Also, enjoying this so far! Looking forward to seeing how Adu does!

I think the -10 actually gives it between 170-200. Yea it'll be interesting to see if Adu moves to Europe or not in the long run. My personal favourite is Cherno Samba but he doesn't seem to be pushing on yet. Also think Farnerud and Gospodinov will end up being journeymen if they can't break into the City team. Also find it hilarious to think Maradona's son at Villa
