I was just playing FM in my current save with West Ham and had a dilemma that occurs frequently on FM and in real life.

I was 1-0 down to Tottenham and my best player (Christian Benitez) is really off form at the moment but ive decided to stick with him.

So yes... I was losing 1-0 with 15 minutes to go and had the likes of Kadlec and C.Cole on the bench, who have got the potential to turn the game around.

So then came the Dilemma ?!

For me, Christian Benitez is a class player in my team. And can sometimes provide that one bit of magic that can win you games so I thought about keeping him on, but he was having a bad game and I had some hungry strikers on the bench.

So I wondered Shall I take him off or Leave him on?

Benitez was having a dreadful game, so with fifteen minutes I decided to take him off with and I ended up losing 2-0 :S. But If I would have left him on would have I equalised

I saw a case of this today IRL by Kenny Daglish with Torres. You could see that he was unsure wheter to leave him on because it only takes that one bit of terrific skill to equalise, In the end he took him off.

But I want to Know:

If you have faced this Dilemma?

If so What did you do?

If his rating is less that 6.5 sub him, because above 6.0 he is atleast trying... above 6.5 he is showing enough skill

Depends, really. Anything below 6.6 is unacceptable in my opinion, but if they're a star player then I'll usually just switch him with the other on-field striker, which often works, but when it doesn't I'll reluctantly sub them.

I know what you mean, they are really good players but aren't playing well. But they could easily do something good and turn the game around if they got the right chance

I usually wait till last 25 minutes and if my striker keep missing the net I'll sub him regardless he's star player or not. Just bring out Kadlec so sub Suarez in my game recently and Kadlec scored lol

I think when trying to equalise the player that'll do the best is the one with the highest determination.

Even with decent stats, if you put on a player with high determination on and say the right thing to him when subbing, he'll get the job done...
