Rangers enter administration for 2nd time

Rangers have yet again managed to be involved in headline news for all the wrong reasons, the club will enter into administration for the 2nd time in just 3 years. Towards the end of Rangers League One campaign it was rumoured they were struggling money wise and it looked unlikely signings would be made for their season in the championship. Rangers just seemed to disregard these money woes and brought in a number of summer recruits including ex players Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller.

The SFA have confirmed this poor decision making of club finances isn’t acceptable and the team will now be dropped right back into the bottom division of Scottish football again. Many Rangers supporters have been quick to share their reactions through social media and protests.

These darkening times don’t seem to be getting any better as just when things seemed to be getting back to normal it has all collapsed. McCoist and McDowall have both resigned from their roles at Rangers and fans have already voiced their anger at two club favourites who just seem to have abandoned the club in a time of need, but it seems there may be more going on behind the scenes.

Rangers have had to release a number of first team players most notably the likes of vice captain Lee Wallace, goalkeeper Cammy Bell and youth star Lewis MacLeod. MacLeod leaving for Brentford and the other two are now clubless. All of Rangers summer signings have had to be let go as Rangers simply cannot afford to pay them their high wages.

Nicky Clark, Kyle Hutton, Lee McCulloch, Fraser Aird and Lee Robinson seem to be the only first team players to stay at the club as the administrators have deemed these players wages acceptable.

Mike Ashley has became a huge saviour in all of this loaning 5 players to Rangers from Newcastle, these loans were originally in place for the Championship season but will be playing alot lower level than expected in League Two.
