Easy! Came into this and battered them as we stormed into a 3-0 by half time, but they subdued us and were able to get 1 back in the 2nd half, still won though!

We were playing so well! 2-0 up at half time, Scotland couldn't handle us, looked like we were going to cruise it... but then... they brought on Matt Phillips.

For some reason we just could not handle him! He came on, instantly get an assist and then went and scored! I really thought we were gonna lose this 3-2!

Couldn't believe it when we went 1-0 down... but thankfully we got the red card we needed! We were poor up until that point but after that we took the game by the scruff of the next and showed them why we are one of the favourites!

Scotland were the surprise package in this group after managing to hold us to a draw and then also managing to beat the other 2 teams... fair play to them! Didn't get the 100% but we still qualified 1st!

So we have been drawn against Ghana... definitely think we are too good for them and should easily be able to beat them, and also looks like we might have an easy way into the Semis as we will play either Romania or Croatia who I am sure we will beat!​

Easy! Ran rings around Ghana and easily booked ourselves a place in the Quarter Final as they just had no answer to our much superior quality of players!

Isco adds to his goals so far is actually top goalscorer in the tournament so far with 5!

I decided to quit my job as Manager of Spain!

I enjoyed it while I was there but most of the time I just saw it as an inconvenience and that it got in the way of my progress with Newcastle...

I will stay off the International scene for a while now and will only return to it if I can get the England job...

So that's it for Spain and the World Cup, so now we can head onto the next season!

The pre-season is just about to begin so of course it now means you will be able to finally see the squad and the players!

The update will be tomorrow as I am out tonight being a menace to society and drinking! :P​

Start of Pre-Season

So a new season dawns as we head into our 6th season in charge, lets see what the summer is going to hold for us after winning the World Cup with Spain!

So we had 1 friendly already in and around the World Cup games, a random youngster scored our only goal for us to win it.

Of course I am letting John Carver (Assistant Manager) take control of these friendlies to allow me to focus on sorting out the squad!

All of these friendlies look very easy, we should easily win them all and that will hopefully give us good confidence and form for the new season!

Squad

Had quite a few people asking for this, so I shall be an in depth view of the squad where we will be looking at everyone!

As you can see, we have so many quality players in our squad, but also a large amount of quality future players in the side as well, looking at it now, I cannot see any positions which really need players adding to it!

So, of course, we shall start at the back!

Goalkeepers:

Marc-Andre ter Stegen | Nicola Leali | Marcel Kaiser

Of course we have ter Stegen who is our main man in goal, he is just incredible and I really want to keep him here till he retires, I just love him! Leali is a more than capable back up and is a very good player, but as you can see he may be leaving as he has been moaning about game time, but with how good ter Stegen is, I just can't play him as much as he wants. Now Kaiser is one of the best future goalkeepers around! He played a few games for us last season and did pretty well, so he will now become back up if Leali leaves!

Mayke | Mattia De Sciglio

I am so happy with the RB position, Mayke and De Sciglio are both so good, and even though I was expecting De Sciglio to be my main choice this season they both ended up playing around the same amount of games and I still do not know who is my first choice! Neither of them are likely to leave soon either unless I get some incredible offer!

Luke Shaw | Davide Santon | Thomas Halabi

So this is a position I have been happy with for a while, Santon is still a very good player and is a very good back up to Shaw who is now one of if not the best Left Back in the world now. Halabi looks very good for the future but is not likely to feature for us for maybe another season or 2 and will go out on loan, but when he is able he will become the back up to Shaw which will probably see Santon leave.

Eder Alvarez Balanta | Thiago Casasola | Marquinhos | Jonathan Tah | Alejandro Jair Trevino | Mark Maxted

Such strength in this position it is unreal! Balanta and Marquinhos are the main 2 choices at CB, but Tah has really come on leaps and bounds last season and is really pushing Marquinhos for his spot! Trevino is also starting to feature more and I can definitely see a point soon where I will not know who to play! Unfortunately Maxted hasn't really developed as I had hoped and may end up leaving soon, could be loan or transfer.

Riccardo Uccelli | Ismael Extebarria | Lucas Romero | Matea Kovacic | Nabil Bentaleb | Florijan Datkovic | Goran Kostic | Tayfun Acar | Tarkan Harrison | Brady Boot

I just dont know what to do with this position... so many of our players are just so good!! Obviously Romero and Kovacic are my main 2 choices, with Acar and Kostic usually being back ups, but Boot, Uccelli and Extebarria all have incredible potential and will definitely starting to challenge in another season maybe! Unfortunately for them, Bentaleb, Datkovic and Harrison do not really feature in my plans anymore, and will most likely go out on loan, and unless they can impress on their loans, they will be leaving sometime soon.

Attacking Midfield Right:

Hatem Ben Arfa | Alen Halilovic

Very happy with this position! Halilovic really stepped up last season as had an incredible season and was one of our top players, also Ben Arfa was getting to play a fair few games and even at 31 he is still very good, and a very good back up for the side!

Aidan Gilliead | Raheem Sterling | Ryan Gauld | Juan Carlos Velasco

Another position I am going to start to have problems choosing with... Gilliead looks great for the future and will hopefully spend next season out on loan, while Sterling, Gauld and Velasco will be fighting it out for first choice! Velasco will definitely become one of the 2 first choices I will have, so unfortunately that means, that most likely at the end of this new season, either Gauld or Sterling will be leaving!

Attacking Midfield Centre:

Ravel Morrison | Ross Barkley | Rich Ingram | Florian Biermann

Some great players in this position, Morrison had an excellent season and managed to take first choice and pushing Barkley to the bench and those 2 will be the 2 fighting it out again this season. Ingram hasn't developed as I had hoped and now will most likely be loaned out most seasons, but may be a future back up, and I have great hopes for Biermanns future! Will definitely be fighting to play next season for us I think, but may either go out on loan or play some smaller games for us.

Strikers:

Richairo Zivkovic | Kevin Volland | Donis Avdijaj

Volland... just... wow. He has been absolutely incredible for us ever since he came here, and will definitely be here with us for a long time to come! Avdijaj is my main back up to Volland and proved himself last season he is capable to step up if needed, and instead of loaning out Zivkovic who hasn't really had a chance for us yet, he will be staying and I will be giving him his chances!

Summary

So... that is the squad!

As you can see we have some great strength and depth in the side and we will have some excellent players developing and getting to play for us in the future!

Only thing I think we may need to do is bring in some more English talent, as we do not have much at the moment!​

Some very nice victories, obviously disappointed with the defeat to Deportivo Cali, but we were missing a few players due to injuries and being tired etc.

But quite nice that we won all the other games and got clean sheets as well!​

Summer Transfer Window

Not as much as movement into the club as there usually is during the Summer windows!

So only just 3 players join us during this Summer window, while 3 first team players leave, one for a very big fee!

Decided to let Bentaleb leave as he was never going to get to play for us really, especially with the players we already have, made a nice amount of profit from him as well!

Now, I know we already have a load of CM's but this guy, for just 6.25 Million is an absolute bargain! He is such a good looking player, and at 19, I can see him developing into one of the best players in the world easily!

15 years old, has 20 determination and looks like he is going to be a great player for the future! Wasn't able to send him out on loan this season so hopefully may play him in a couple of games!

Really looking forward to seeing this guy develop! 19 and already looks like he has great potential and could become world class quite easily! Think this could soon spell the end for Morrison soon though unfortunately for him as I still prefer Barkley.

So biggest transfer in June by a fair bit is Insigne to Chelsea for 36 Million, looking forward to facing him as he looks like a great player! Then also nice to see Hughes is getting the recognition he deserves as he makes a big money move to PSG!

Barcelona are gonna feel stupid. They sold Roberto to Stuttgart for 7.5 Million in the 14/15 season and have now just bought him back for 32.5 Million... idiots! Then of course as you can see Bentaleb leaving us for PSG was the 2nd biggest transfer of July.

Biggest transfer sees Valencia make some decent money as they sell Bernat to Juventus for 30 Million, and we also see another big transfer into the Premier League as Murillo leaves Udinese for Man Utd for 28 Million!​
