GUS POYET LEAVES BRIGHTON

Brighton and Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet was seen leaving Brighton Training Ground earlier today. This decision has came as a surprise to all supports of The Seagulls as the fans had created a strong relationship with their manager after Poyet guided Brighton to their second nPower League One title and finishing in a remarkable 10th position in last years Championship. There has been no news as to why this decision was made by Gus but the only thing these supports are interested in is who will be the new manager. Rumours are circulating the Amex Stadium that unemployed Steve Kean will become the new manager however the chairman of the club Tony Bloom has announced that the doors are open to any manager experienced or not. Some fans are furious at this decision whereas a strong mix of the fans are backing Mr Bloom.

More news coming up...

NEW BRIGHTON MANAGER IS YOUNG INEXPERIENCED HENDRY

Brighton and Hove Albion have just revealed their new manager who will be taking over from Gus Poyet. This appointment came as a surprise to everyone as the favourite candidate was Steve Kean ex Blackburn Rovers manager, however chairman Mr Bloom did say that the door was open to inexperienced managers. New Brighton manager Declan Hendry was greeted greatly to the Amex but some fans aren't happy with who the new manager is. Mr Bloom told us after the appointment was revealed "Declan has great potential and we have big ambitions at this club that we believe Hendry will achieve. I understand some fans anger at this appointment but they must understand that this appointment was thought through very thoroughly and that there will be no regrets with the decision we have made. All the fans should back Hendry and create an atmosphere to help him be motivate at this club. He will bring us great success and we have one hundred percent confidence our targets will be met."

Declan Hendry will start his first and new job on Wednesday July 11th 2012 and his league game will be against Bristol City away. Will Hendry bring success to the Amex? We will just need to find out.

A good pre-season for us we managed to not lose a single game. Good performances from all the players in every game and our tactic of 4-4-2 seems to be working perfectly (hopefully it works throughout the season). Surprise draws against Genoa, Zaragoza and Getafe.

Brighton will play League Two side Gillingham in the first round of the Capital One Cup. Hendry talked to the press earlier and said "I would like to make an impact in this competition to give myself a starting foundation at this club. Would I like to lift this trophy in February? Yes very much any competition we play in we want to win it"

The game will be played Priestfield on 14th of August.

Season draws closer and closer

With the first weekend of the nPower Championship coming closer and closer fans will be desperate for that opening game of the season to come quicker than anything. With pre-season coming to an end and with players feeling fit and ready for this season Championship they will all want to be one of the three teams who win promotion to the Premier League. Newly promoted Charlton, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield will be the ones fighting for survival as they will be the favourites to go straight back down. Blackburn, Blackpool and Wolves will want to go straight back to the Premier League after being relegated last season. This seasons Championship looks to be a very competitive one, you wouldn't want to miss it!

A winning start for Hendry in his first competitive game in charge of Brighton. We said he wanted to make an impact in this cup and he has made a promising start beating Gillingham 4-0 away from home with an outstanding performance from the players.

Declan Hendry started the season with his new team Brighton disappointingly as they lost to Bristol City 1-0 away from home. The performance from the players wasn't bad as the game was end to end with both teams creating chances, however it was The Robins who got the break through. Hendry spoke to the BBC afterwards "It wasn't the start we had planned. I had wanted to kick start the season with fireworks, to get the fans behind me allow them to know that there was great things to happen at this club throughout this season. We will bounce back and get our season properly started."

Still no win in the league for Brighton

Two goals for the same player for the same team! Bet you didn't think you would ever hear that. Dreadful start for us as we went down 1-0 within 35 minutes thanks to Greer, however he redeemed himself by scoring at the other end (technically same end as it was the second half but anyway) on the 60th minute. Outplayed and passed off the park for the full ninty minutes. Definitely need to up our game if we want to make a commanding start in the league.

Seagulls soaring high in victory over Leeds United

Brighton thump Leeds United in their own backyard. Within 16 minutes of the game Brighton were leading 3-0 at this point Leeds United fans were off their seats and leaving the stadium full of rage at the performance their players had put out in the opening 15 minutes. Ashley Barnes of Brighton had an outstanding game scoring three goals his manager must surely be impressed with the game he had today. "This was the win we needed. We had trained hard for this all week and our training had paid off as the result shows. We need to carry this impressive display into our next game on Tuesday as we look to progress into the next round of the Capital One Cup. I'm proud of my boys today they deserve the win." Hendry after the game.

Declan Hendry's Brighton boys secured their place in the third round of the Capital One Cup by beating Notts County 1-0 at the Amex. Home supporters sounded their appreciation by chanting Hendrys name loud and clear plenty of times. This was the backing the chairman had asked for on the day he appointed Hendry and he fully deserves it after his last two performances from his team. "It's great to hear the reception. My boys are motivated and play with great passion for this club. We need the backing from the fans and when we win they sound their appreciation for more and that is what we will give them." Hendry speaking to Sky Sports.
