The World Cup has now finally arrived and many teams rate there chances in winning it. Major underdigs Uruguay though have a rather easy group though in comparison to others. Wit Greece, Costa Rica and the hosts South Africa, they will be challengers for 1st.

Uruguay vs Greece

Both sides will be looking for the victory. Both considered the major challengers in the group it is important that one of them starts off with a win here.

Uruguay pick up an important 2-0 win over Greece.Goals from Luis Suarez and Vicente Sanchez hand them the important 3 points.

Costa Rica Vs Uruguay

Seen as an easy victory for the Uruguayans they will be looking for another win which would almost gurantee their qualification from the group.

A bore 0-0 draw, which, leaves Group f wide open will Uruguay on 4 points, Greece on 3, Costa Rica on 2 and South Africa on 1. All to play for as Uruguay take on South Africa and Greece play Costa Rica.

The last group game, and an all important one as it is all to play for in this Group. A win for Uruguay would see them finish top.

Uruguay break the hosts hearts as the demolish South Africa, 4-0. Forlan nets an impressive brace which helps his team to victory.

Uruguay are drawn against France in the last 16 of this tournament. An unimpressive France this far will find this game difficult now doubt as Uruguay have thus far played rather impressivly. We should be in for a good game today.

What a day for Uruguayan football! The beat the 2006 finalists 3-1, with Albin scoring twice as well as Godin. Though, their performance was aided due to the fact that France finished the game with only 8 men due to injuries and sending off's. Nevertheless, a massive victory today for Uruguay and the move into the Quarter Finals.

]For me, this is what the World Cup is about, the underdogs coming out on top. We showed today that we mean business and that we arnt just here to make the numbers up, we want to have a real shot at trying to lift this trophy however hard that may be!

Uruguay have now drawn Japan in the Quarter Finals of the World Cup. This is a big game and has a lot a stake, a chance to play in the Semi - finals for one of these 2 teams would have been a dream come true come the begining of the tournament.

Its uruguay who progress! After a pretty impressive performance against Japan they role out 3-0 winners. Cavani and Martinez score for Uruguay with the helping hand of an own goal. Another great day for Uruguayan football!

Uruguay have drawn the holders, Italy. A very difficult draw for Uruguay in their quest for underdog glory, but I wouldnt be surprised if they caused an upset. They have played superbly and Lorenzo has them playing some rather exciting football in his 4-4-2 formation.

They've done it! Uruguay have knocked out the Champions and progress into the World Cup final in an attempt to win it since 1950. What a game. They had to endure heavy pressure but took Italy to penalties where they picked up the win! Pirlo and Zambrotta seemily crumbling under the enourmas pressure!

I'm simply lost for words. Thrilling day for us, for the fans and probably everyone at home. Its a shame it finished 0-0, but, a penalty shoot-out is always a crowd pleaser for the neuatrals eh?!

Uruguay now face their fellow South Americans, Brazil in the final. Brazil, who have won this compittition the greatest amount of times will be looking to add another victory and lif the trophy. Their media have been quick to dismiss the threat of Uruguay. But Uruguay have been impressive thus far, can they do it on last time?

Uruguay are World Champions! Once again they are on the recieveing end of a battering, but, in the 92 minute, Forlan play it through to Edinson Cavani on the counter and he scores to create the biggest upset of this World Cup now! What a day this will now be for Uruguayans all over the world as their team have done them proud in securing their first World Cup since 1950!

This is the greatest day of my life, I cant believe we've won this! This is the best goal of my career and the most important no doubt. I need to go and enjoy this sorry! Uruguay, Uruguay Uruguay!

This is a great day for the whole of Uruguay. I'm so proud of the team for managing this success. I've made my 71st cap today, I've won Player of the Tournament, I've just lifted the World Cup! This is a day I will never forget!

And there you have it, I've achieved a South American dream, though trust me it was very stressful and unexpected. We got destroyed from both Italy and Brazil so to come away and win this is great. First time I've won this on FM, ever, so I'm well chuffed! I will continue this though, probably play up to the 2014 World Cup!

Forlan is 31 now and there is no prospects coming through bar some 16 year old dm from Valencia
