Deportivo v Valencia

An early goal sent us on our way here thanks to Babalola who has really stepped up this season before Diego got the 2nd to get us the 3 points against one of the teams above us.

Alaves v Deportivo

We fell behind here but two very quick goals got us back in the lead and made sure we didn't throw away anything.

Deportivo v Osasuna

An early sending off made all the difference for us as Diego was able to get a hat-trick for us to give us a very comfortable win

PSV Eindhoven v Deportivo

I was hoping for a different result here but PSV had a solid defence and were able to keep us out so all to play for in front of our own fans.

Deportivo v Villarreal

We definitely have a habit of scoring in the opening 10 minutes of games as Diego continues that here before Rodrigo rounds off the first half with a goal to secure the 3 points.

League

We're still in the hunt and should be guaranteed top 4 though unless we seriously mess up

Granada v Deportivo

Dossena gets us off to a lightening quick start within the opening 60 seconds but it was really the 2nd half over the space of 6 minutes we really took our chances and punished them

Deportivo v Real Oviedo

Its the 2nd half magic again as we have to wait to put the game beyond doubt to make sure we got the 3 points

Deportivo v PSV Eindhoven

What a performance here as we ran riot against PSV after the 1st leg draw as Dossena put in a MOTM performance netting 4 times.

Deportivo v Espanyol

Burgoa has really stepped up over the last month or two as he scores the only goal of the game here to keep the title within shot.

Eibar v Deportivo

2 quick goals in 2 very quick minutes kept us on our toes but a well worked corner just after half time was enough to keep us going

League

We managed to make the best of Real Madrid's bad run of form as we have now closed the gap to just 1 point

Youth Intake

We have an average intake this year with just the one player looking like they might make it one day even if they need a bit of work

Francisco Jose Gonzalez is a LW who needs a lot of work but who knows what could happen 3 or 4 years down the line

We've had a bit of a lucky draw in the Champions League with coming up against Newcastle who we played in the Europa League a couple of years ago so got a great chance to progress.​

Champions League Quarter Final 1st Leg
Deportivo v Newcastle United

We got the fear here after Newcastle went ahead and it was a great 2 minutes where we got the equaliser and then they went down to 10 men. What a final minute as well as we take the advantage to Newcastle now in the 2nd leg.

Real Sociedad v Deportivo

A bit disappointing here as we need every 3 points to keep up with Real but our legs gave out and Real Sociedad were able to get the equaliser.

Newcastle United v Deportivo

Well the goal advantage from the first leg is enough as we manage to grind out a 1-1 draw to reach the semi final

Deportivo v Atletico Madrid

Dossena is the main man here as usual as he can always find a way to get us a goal when its needed.

Deportivo v Mallorca

Dossena keeps the good times rolling as he manages a 15 minute hat-trick

We knew this was going to be a tough game but we got off to a flying start but sadly Bayern were just too powerful for us in the 2nd half as they take the advantage for the 2nd leg.

Sevilla v Deportivo

We had to rotate some of the squad here but it paid off as Butina and Torres stepped up and got the win for us.

League

We are still a point behind but there are only 4 games to go and we also need to watch for Barca sneaking up behind us

Champions League Semi Final 2nd Leg
Bayern Munich v Deportivo

The first half we missed a couple of chances but then took total control with 2 goals in the 2nd half to end up taking the lead and looking like we were going to make the final before Bayern stepped it up a gear in the final 10 minutes and sent us crashing out.

Celta Vigo v Deportivo

What a derby game as we ran riot as we used the hurt from the last game spur us on and Dossena got another 4 goals to add to his tally.

Almeria v Deportivo

With every game being like a cup final for us to keep up with Real it looked like we had blown it until a couple of choice subs made all the difference as Aguilar and Butina made all the difference and got all 4 goals.

Deportivo v Cadiz

A routine victory here as Dossena makes light work of Cadiz with 2 goals and an assist.

Deportivo v Levante

We rotated some of the squad here to give a few youngsters a run out against an already relegated Levante but it was regular starter Demeli who ran riot from the left wing in the opening 20 minutes with an amazing hat-trick

League

Sadly we are pipped to the title again by Real which is making me wonder what we're going to need to do as they beat us by a single point. Hopefully next season will be our year but we also said that last season so we're going to have to try something different and improve the team as well​

Season 9

Transfers Out

Well we have let 8 players go so far this season with some of our biggest players leaving sadly but it was needed to help and improve the squad or the clubs that came in for them were just too big and they would of thrown their toys out the pram if we rejected the bids. We also made a profit off every single player we sold as well as long as you don't take their wages into account.

The biggest player leaving was also the first as Dossena finally leaves to join Manchester City for £165million which isn't bad considering we only paid £55million for him 3 and a half seasons ago. We also sold our starting keeping in Lafont who has been great for us but I really wanted an upgrade so we had to sell him to make way for a new keeper to come in but we did make a £60million profit off him. Diego only joined last summer but he struggled at times with his fitness so we wanted an improvement there as well.

Torres had been with us for 5 seasons after we signed him for £1.5million but he had been wanting a new contract and was wanting a stupid wage so when Tottenham offered us £70million for him we bit their hand off and let him go. We also let Diana and Conte leave the club as they were unhappy with their playing time and we needed to get their wages off the books as we messed up when signing players and couldn't register everybody we wanted. Burgoa also left for the same reason as he was on £100k a week. he also struggled to justify the price we paid for him as he failed to adapt to Spanish football so he moves on and frees up a lot in wages.

Transfers In

Vjeran Pajic

As I said above we wanted a step up in quality in goal and Pajic comes in for £76million from Dortmund and at 23 is already the German national keeper to show how good he is.

Jaume Barcelo

We needed a new RW and I also wanted some more Spanish players in so we spent another £85million on him from PSG but he looks class and again is already a Spanish International at 23 and will have a very bright future at the club

Philipp Lang

Lang has big shoes to fill as he comes in as a like for like replacement for Dossena and with his pace and finishing he will hopefully be worth the £98million we had to pay Hertha Berlin for

Gavi

Gavi was transfer listed at Barca and met the requirement of being Spanish so we snapped him up for £25million and Barca are also paying £220,000 of his wages for the next 2 years as well but at 25 he still has a lot of football in him left to play but also brings a wealth of experience with him

David Ramos

So with having signed players on high wages we needed players in who would not count towards the wage restriction when registering players and Ramos ticks a few boxes with being only 18 and Spanish and has plenty of room to develop so we spent a whopping £39million to sign the highly rated prospect from Barca

Friendlies

Another great preseason until we played Real in the final one so hopefully it won't be a sign of things to come again this season but I am happy with the rest of the results as we scored a lot of goals.

Expectations

The board are expecting quite a bit now but I don't expect anything less myself as I really hope we can win something again this season

We get a much easier start this year compared to the last couple of seasons so we need to make the most of it but we will still be looking to sell another player or two along with bringing in some more as well

Rivalry

I feel this was a nice touch as I've not seen it before on the game where a new rivalry has developed but as you can see from the bottom its very one sided at the moment.

Deportivo v Athletic Club

A strong start to the season and it was great to see a debut goal for Larrazabal who joined last season and was sent out on loan so he's got a point to prove to stay in the first team. Lang also gets off to a flyer for us to pick up where Dossena left off.

Espanyol v Deportivo

Lang opens the scoring as he scored a curler from just outside the area to get us on our way.

League

Top of the league, at least we're ahead of Real for a bit

Transfers Out

We had to sell another couple of players who were high earners to be able to register everybody we wanted

I decided to keep the Spanish players so we let Aguilar leave thanks to a huge offer from Arsenal and the money will be reinvested further down the line I'm sure. Babalola had been a good signing for us and was young but I wanted to play Rodrigo in his position this year so sadly he didn't make the cut.

Transfers In

Salvatore Russo

A very versatile player who can play in a number of positions and was a bargain for £2.5 million from A.C Milan. We will look to develop him into more of a CM to help support there as at 5'10 he's just too small for a CB

Olivier Galle

Galle is a bit of a gamble as we needed a young striker in to support Lang and he has the potential so hopefully he works out as we paid Troyes £15.25 million

Wilbert Antonioli

Antonioli joins for £20 million from Feyenoord and he looks like he can develop into a decent CB but we will need to improve his heading and jumping though

George Jackson

Jackson wasn't really a player we needed so we loaned him straight out but for £10 million from Flamengo he can only make us money in the future(hopefully)

Champions League

A pretty easy group well apart from Bayern but we should finish in the top 2 comfortably and Bayern does let us see where our squad is before getting further on in the competition

We kick off the Champions League with Bayern whereas everything in the league should be straight forward if it all goes to plan​

Deportivo v Elche

A pretty boring 1st half but Gavi scored a screamer to get us on our way before Parada poked it home at the back post.

Valencia v Deportivo

Valencia looked like they were onto a good thing here as they took the lead twice but thankfully some encouragement from the side-lines and some choice subs we managed to turn it around and get the 3 points

Deportivo v Bayern Munich

A proper end to end game here and great for the spectators but it shows that further in the competition then we do have a chance against the big teams as we start our group with a good point.

Rodrigo and Lang got us off to a flyer and it was no worry after that for the rest of the game as we then scored another two in the 1st half before taking our foot off the gas and relaxing in the 2nd half.

Deportivo v Osasuna

Osasuna really pushed us here and it took another long range effort from Gavi to get us the 3 points today

Granada v Deportivo

Another nice easy win for us here as our young players are showing how good they are and they are only going to get better as well with more experience

We have a slight win over Real now thanks to them losing to Atletico Madrid we now need to make this advantage count.

We now face Real this month at home so we need a result here but got two easier games in the Champions League to set us up nicely for finishing in the top 2​

Celtic v Deportivo

Nothing like a trip to Glasgow but we demolish the current champions of Scotland as Lang managed to score two goals within a minute in the 2nd half.

Cadiz v Deportivo

We rotate the squad a bit here to rest players but our youth players come through and get us the 3 points.

Deportivo v Mallorca

Our first teamers come back in here and run riot again to show how far we've come and how impressive our new signings are settling into the club.

Deportivo v Red Bull Salzburg

The whipping boys of the group it seems as we play an excellent game as we now sit on 7 points from 3 games to sit top of the table with Bayern also matching us.

Deportivo v Real Madrid

What a game as we put our foot down to show Real we are going for the title this season as Demeli gets us off to the best possible start with a great finish in just 9 minutes. Lang is also on top form for us just now as he gets another 2 goals to add to his tally

Real Sociedad v Deportivo

Disappointing to go from dominating Real to drawing with Sociedad but Larrazabel stepped up from replacing Rodrigo for an excellent solo goal.

We have a 4 point lead over Real which we have managed to throw away before in seasons past but it looks like it will be a 2 horse race again this season

Just the 4 games this month with 2 games in the Champions League which should see us qualify after the 2 of them. We also have a big game against Barca which could help Real close the gap on us​

Red Bull Salzburg v Deportivo

The reserves go out an give a decent performance to get the 3 points as Uranga and Ramos score two well worked team goes to show how well they can step in at any time.

Celta Vigo v Deportivo

The first team comes back in and its another win against our main rivals as we put in an excellent 1st half performance before starting to sub people off to save them for the next game.

Deportivo v Barcelona

We got off to a flyer through a well trained set piece in just 3 minutes but Depay sadly got once back 5 minutes later. A poor challenge gave us hope and we ran away with it after that proper demolishing Barca to show haw far we've come this season.

With us near enough qualifying then we decided to let the backups have a shot at Celtic and boy did Galle deliver with 2 great goals. Demeli came on as a late sub a scored a great goal with a 30 yard screamer

We hold onto our 4 point lead over Real and even grown the points gap over 3rd as well

Barcelo has been worth every penny since we signed him as we run riot in the opening 30 minutes

Rayo Vallecano v Deportivo

We rotated the squad here and they kept up our form as they step up and its good to see our younger players getting on the score sheet as well.

Deportivo v Almeria

Galle kept his starting point after his goal in the last came but Lang came on in the 2nd half to replace him and show him how its done.

What a first half from us as the players really stepped up. It was a nervy 2nd half though after their goal but we survived to finish top of the group.

Deportivo v Eibar

Well we certainly got brought crashing back down to earth here as we lose our first game of the season to a team who had only won 3 games up until this point.

well the gap is now down to 1 point. I really hope we can hold on over the next half of the season

Transfers

We only had one player leaving the club this month as Imanol Larrazabal leaves to join A.C Milan for £30million. He wasn't a player I wanted to let go but he was refusing to sign a new contract so better to make some money from him before he left at the end of the season for nothing.

To replace him we snapped up Dani Olmo on a precontract deal but then opted to bring him in early for an extra Spanish player for £27million and his experience will be well used in the squad.

We took things easy here as we have the Supercopa coming up against decent teams.

Deportivo v Sevilla

We went into this game with confidence after our last game against Sevilla and it was a one sided match until our ex player scored against us but we did score in the final moments of the game after a whopping 7 minutes injury time

Deportivo v Barcelona

Its taken 3 attempts but we've finally won the Supercopa thanks to a nice early goal from Barcelo as he gives the fans something to celebrate again.

Atletico Madrid v Deportivo

We put in a great performance for the first 85 minutes but then it looked like we lost complete control of the game as we nearly blew a 3 goal lead.

Cartagena v Deportivo

We rotated the squad where we could and again we managed to get the win and make it through to the next round.

Athletic club v Deportivo

Another nice easy game for us as Olmo makes a goal scoring debut as it was a cracking first half of football for the fans.

Elche v Deportivo

Demelo had a great game from the middle of the park as he got two goals and really helped link up play well.

Osasuna v Deportivo

Our backups really struggled here as we had to go to extra time just to make it through into the next round.

League

We've managhed to open up a 5 point lead over Real which means hopefully the title is going to be ours this season.

A nice easy draw in the Copa del Rey to let our backups have a run put again but even though we finished top of our Champions League group we have a horrible draw against PSG​

Deportivo v Espanyol

What a game as we get off to a flyer just after 4 minutes. Its crazy that we went in at half time 8-0 up with Butina getting a hat-trick before Barcelo got his final goal for his hat-trick just after half time then we decided to take our foot off the gas rather than going for double figures.

The backups continue to impress here as we reach the semi final of the cup as Galle keeps his run of form going when he's given the chances.

Deportivo v Valencia

Butina and Lang are scoring for fun just now as we go 2 up in the opening 6 minutes and even with their second goals when one scores the other scores a minute later.

Barcelona v Deportivo

Fitness came into this game but we needed to play our first team here and we really deserved to win the game but sadly blew it with the final kick of the ball.

Osasuna v Deportivo

Lang gets another brace but the stand out player was Uranga who not only got on the scoresheet but set up the two Lang goals as well.

Deportivo v Alaves

A really poor game here as we really struggled and just couldn't take our chances as we fall to another defeat.

We struggled here as well but it was to be expected against a team like PSG but Galle came on for Lang who was underperforming but stepped up to give us a decent chance in the 2nd leg.

Its a 2 horse race for the title and only 2 points in it now as well

We've got 3 huge games this month but that shouldn't take anything else away from the other games as we need to make sure we win those to stay ahead of Real​

What a first half here as we run riot against Granada. I was disappointed to concede the goal though.

We make it into the final again thanks to a stand out performance from former Barca youth player Olmo as he scores one and sets up the other.

Another game where we score goals for fun as we keep our run going to keep up with Real

Was great to keep a clean sheet here and bang in another 3 goals as we rested some players for the next game.

What a 2nd half we had as we put in a brilliant performance after falling 2-0 behind. Thank god for penalties though as we squeeze past PSG to move into the quarter final.

F*cking Real Madrid. Can always beat us there it seems to draw us right back in.

Well with 9 games to go there is nothing in it so it looks like every game is going to be a cup final for us going forward now.

We have one stand out player this intake with Inaki Imaz looking like a decent RW

What a win for us at the Nou Camp as Barca couldn't cope with us at all in thee first half and that was shown as Parada scored after a darting run from his RB postion

The game all turned on the red card being issued just before half time as we managed to make an instant impact after it with Demeli getting us back to all square before Rodrigo and Lang give us one foot in the semi final

Even with the red card Lang's goal was enough to get us the 3 points which shows just how good our defence is right now

We came into this game knowing we just needed to grind out a draw but that wasn't enough for us as we went all out and Lang put us ahead but sadly we conceded in the 90th minute but we are still in the Semi finals.
