Nuneaton Town

Nuneaton Town Football Club is an English Football club from the town of Nuneaton, Warwickshire. The team compete in the Conference North. This is the 2nd level of Non League Football. In the 2007–08 season they competed in the Conference North division, but due to a liquidation they were demoted to the Southern Football League Division One Midlands.
In 1889 Nuneaton St. Nicholas were the first team to play senior football within Nuneaton. Five years later they changed their name to Nuneaton Town, and played until 1937 when the club was disbanded. However, two days later Nuneaton Borough F.C. were founded but in 1992, the club was renamed Nuneaton Borough AFC. In 2008 they ran out of money again, and were reformed as Nuneaton Town - suffering a two division demotion. The club is still known as Boro to those who support the team, but they are again on the verge of bankruptcy. .
The club play their home fixtures at Liberty Way in their home kit of blue & white vertical stripes.

In July 2011 kevin wilkin resigned as manager as again liquidation was a possibility, the former semi-Professional footballer Nick Treadwell who had a spell at nuneaton was appointed manager. His Job was to take a nuneaton side to the confrence premier division and stop the club going under again.

The Introduction

I got out of bed at 6:15, i couldnt sleep. All i could think about was the lads telling me what a huge train wreck id got myself into. I mean on the outskirts of liquidation and the expectation of the town on my shoulders. As i arrived at the chairman Ian Neale's office my head was spinning with what to do.
After speaking for a hour, Mr Neale convinced me that i could do this. He even offered to help me out in the transfer market with his own funds, we were in this together and this challenge began to excite me.
So i Signed the contract, and began to look for potential targets.

The Squad

Thanks to the funds from mr beale i managed to sign a few players on free transfers,

is this any good? anyone following? or could give me tips?

Im following, just found the thread :) Good turn around so far, Im guessing your sticking to a 4-4-2 (seems to be the best for low leagues)

Nope, im playing 4-1-3-2 as i have no width in my squad, and the big clubs cant handle it aha

In the f.a trophy it took a replay to beat gloucester which set me up with a tie against Lincoln

February

The month began with the side struggling to get on a run, 2 wins and 2 draws from the league games made it a struggle, fortunatly our 2 rival's have had a poor month which left us 5 points behind the leaders with a game in hand and them 2 play next.

View attachment 208487

In the F.a Trophy we were still upsetting the odds, 1st with a 1-0 win over fleetwood

View attachment 208485

And then after a goaless draw we defeated ebbsfleet in the replay 4-2 after extra time, with pablo counago scoring 4 goals to take his tally to 10 for the compition, and to set us up with a semi final tie against wrexham

March and April

During march and april came our toughest month, 13 league games, 7 wins, 3 draws and 1 defeat, this left us top of league by 2 points with one game left.

View attachment 208601

Our run in the f.a trophy came to a end after we lost 3-1 to wrexham in the semi final, which was another great run.

After a few great nights with the squad it began to set in, what a great season i said to myself, just as i was opening the sun.
And there it was, i was being linked to all kinds of clubs, some that turned my head quite alot.
I had a decision to make, if the offer came what would i do? i dunno. ive just gotta get on with my job.

What's it gonna be?

I was getting ready for my meeting with ian neale when i turned on sky sports news and seen the breaking news,
swansea contact Nuneaton over vacent managers position, as i read the phone rang, it was Ian who said we need to have a talk, i new it, today was decision day.
As we began to chat i could hear the worry in his voice, a couple of the players text me to try nd get me 2 stay, he asked for my decision.
I began to think how without this chance i wouldnt be in the position im in now, i have 1 year on my contract and a chance to take nuneaton to back to back promotions, i had to stay for the players and the chairman, Mr Neale couldnt be happier and told me id get a new contract offer next week,
I had to and get myself some players as 11 left during the close season.

View attachment 208642

I did Manage to bring in some good players including experienced cb Chris Perry,

Our pre-season couldnt have come around quicker,

View attachment 208645

And Now we were ready for the big time!

August and September

Our Blue square premier adventure began in a couple of days and i was ready, having built a new squad in just over 2 weeks i was very nervous to see if they were ready,
I added Calvin Wilson to give us extra in midfield, especially after finding out that a virus would keep adam walker out for a year.

View attachment 208981

The first 2 month's of the season have shown we can compete with the best of them, with 6 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats we sit in 8th place, Just a couple of points out of the play-off places.

View attachment 208982

At the end of the month i made my first short term loan signing of Cody Mcdonald from coventry

October and November

With the confrence premier up and running, it was time to test our squad to see if we could match up, during the last 2 months we have added 2 new players to the squad,

View attachment 209112

View attachment 209114

During these 2 month's we have played 9 games, winning 6 and losing 3

View attachment 209115

We have also won 3 F.A cup Games which places us into the 3rd Round,

We are currently in 6th Place with 38 points,

View attachment 209116

And in the 3rd round of the f.a cup we have drew League 2 side Gillingham at home

Merry Christmas and a Happy New year

So began the busiest footballing period, for us it was all about if we could keep up our fantastic league form and also keep the cup run's going,

View attachment 209760

And what a awful month, fuming with the players isn't the word,
with 2 wins, 3 draws and 4 defeats we have slipped to 9th in the league and have been awful in recent games,
after a replay defeat to gillingham in the fa cup the only good thing is that were still in the fa trophy with a home game against wrexham to come,
