Last nights Hearts vs Motherwell game is under investigation by the ABB (Association of British Bookmakers) due to finding 'irregular betting patterns' regarding the bewildering red-card given to Motherwell's Steve Jennings for 'abusive and foul language', however Sky's cameras saw the back of Jennings, whose only crime seemed to be tapping the referees arm. Jennings had already been booked in the first half but was given a straight red for his 'crime'.
The bet(s) in question originated in Liverpool area, where bets of £200-250 were put on a red card in the game, with the odds of a red at 8/1.
Hearts won the match 2-1, with an own goal from Mark Reynolds opening the scoring for the Jambos. However, less than two minutes later, Keith Lasley latched on to Alan Gow's sublime pass to put the ball under Hearts keeper Marian Kello. However, Hearts were awarded a penalty n the second half, when David Templeton was judged to have been brought down. Kevin Kyle converted the spot kick. Then, minutes later, Motherwell had a penalty claim turned down by Stevie O'Reilly, who made a number of bizzare calls during the evening. That was when the most bizzare one was made, the decision to send off Jennings.
