abilitys changing after contracting

Why is it that when i scout some players, it shows them as 4+ stars current ability, and says that the player would become a star of league 1, but when i buy/contract the player, it changes to 2 stars and good for blue sq prem.

Its happened for nearly 6 signing now, and its getting frustrating.. and expensive.

Sounds like your scout has one opinion and when signed, your other staff members have different ones.

so the scout that did the scouting for that player just doesn't have a high enough stat in judging player ability/potential ?

I've found that my assistants reports tend to be the ones i trust, and i don't just rely on scouts, i do extensive scouting of my own into the player. Like look at how he performed against big clubs, in big games. etc. Or if you have that one scout has is just amazing, mine is Ronaldo (Fat Ronaldo) picks out some first class youth for me

Don't know if I am right but I've had the same problem my assistant rates players lower than my scouts when signed but i put that down to my assistant having lower judging player potential and ability stats than my scouts so I tend to go off my scouts ratings

Or the other way round. The scout could be judging him better than the ***.Man...

So its just a case of believing who ever has the best statistic in asessing player?
