Hi folks, this is the first tactic that I share for FM15.
It brought me great satisfaction in all competitions even though I massively changed the squad.
You will be able to see all the transfers I made and that is the reason I did not expect to have such success.
What I tried to accomplish with this tactic was:
1. Control the ball in the opponent's half while keep safe at the back.
2. The ability to attack both positionally and counter-attack.
3. Flood the center of the midfield while also being able to open the game flow down the flanks.
4. A versatile tactic that works both home and away.
5. A tactic that allows me a great deal of freedom in the player selection. Versatility is key in any tactic i create.
6. I do not aim for crazy posession, but for quality posession that transitions into goal scoring chances.
Now, at the end of the first season, I made huge changes in the squad.
I wanted to offload all the dead wood and bring in young players that dont ask for very high wages and that can develop into world class stars. In order to do this I was forced to sell Stephan El Shaarawy to PSG, but it worked out very well in the end. I managed to get all the players I wanted and the story began. I have to mention that I finished 2nd at the end of the 1st season, losing the tittle in the last 3 games due to injuries on key players (that was very sad). So, after so many changes in the squad, I went for Tittle Challenge, but I was able to win it just by a small margin.
*Most of my 2nd season transfers were made by Monthly Installments because i didnt had enough money for straight-forward transfers.
So, as it follows, i will write here the player requirements for each role, at least what worked for me:
1. Goalkeeper - doesnt matter
2. CB - Jumping, Heading, Passing, Anticipation, Composure, Acceleration
3. FB - Tackling, Marking, Acceleration.
4. DM - Defensive oriented player with decent Vision and Passing.
5. AP - This is your most intelligent and creative player on the field. If he is fast, that is great.
6. BBM - Needs to be fast, good in defense and he also needs long shoots. This player will recover the ball high up the pitch once the ball is lost.
7. IF - Speed, Passing, Finishing and Crossing.
8. ST - You can basically play any kind of striker in the position that has decent passing and speed.
Achievements 2nd Season
Serie A - Winnder
UCL - Winner
Coppa Italia - Winner
European Super-Cup - Winner
Italian Super-Cup - Winner
Club World C'Ship - Winner
Things to know about this tactic:
1. You will not have 60%+ posession, you will often have 45-50 against bigger teams.
2. No matter the quality of the opponent, you will always get shots on target and create chances.
3. The IF's are crucial into opening up the game.
4. When under pressure, your defenders will try to distribute the ball to your IF's, so they need to be fast in order to launch the counter - attack.
5. The ST is set to False9, but it also behaves like an AF at certain times, so Heading would be much appreciated.
6. I let my Assistent Manager to set Opposition Instructions, but I have Mauro Tasotti ...
Final Words
1. I have not tested this tactic on lower level teams or any other team besides AC Milan.
2. If you can tweak it in any way and feel that it works better, please do so and tell us what you accomplished.
3. When you really want to defend against a desperate opponent, you can change mentality to Counter, and Team Instructions - Play Wider, More Direct Passing, Hit Early Crosses.
4. Keep in mind that I used only young players, as you can see my squad. Young players with less to no experience in high-level of football, so maybe you can have even better results if your squad is more experienced and has better chemistry. As I said, I changed the whole team at the end of the first season.
