Hi guys, i would like some advice please, i want to make a 442 and preferably try and re-create the 442 Modern Warfare formation from FM 13 (personally i think it was the best formation i've ever used)

However with how the match engine is now, i just can't see it working, a straight 4 man midfield with no one in behind like an Anchorman just doesn't seem to work anymore (well since FM 13)

I want to make a straight 442 formation, possession football, nice attacking football, but to be honest i don't know where to start.. because a 442 is now classed as an attacking formation with not much defensive cover, would it be best to play Press Much More, and Close Down Much More..? Therefore you aren't giving the opposition much space in the center of the park.. I'm going to make one with a mid table Prem side and see how it goes, any tips on what team and player instructions, Fluid or Structured etc etc would be appreciated as i don't class my self as one of these tactical genius' :P

Cheers

I'm currently working on a 4-4-2 with Athletico Madrid.

I've only just started and I'm only 3 or 4 games into the season but I did beat Real Madrid 3-0 at home using it (I did lose 2-1 away though).

I've got with a flat 4-4-2, fullbacks on support and wide midfielders instead of wingers. I sometimes change my left wide midfielder to a winger attack. Central midfield I have a defensive ball winning midfielder and then a box to box. Striker wise I'm using a target man support and Advanced forward.

Counter mentality - I'm having mixed results with this. Sometimes they try hit the impossible long ball when it works its great to see. I've gone with a fluid style as I'm playing a high pressing game and I want the whole team to press. Can't remember my instructions as I'm at work and can't check but I think I've recently gone to shorter passing, play out of defence, higher tempo, press more, tight marking, prevent GK short distribution.

Not sure if this helps but it might give you a starting point?
