Hey,

On my save I've managed to get take Cambridge united from the Conference to the Championship but can 't seem to get any further (highest finish 9th) so I began applying for new jobs. Despite the many promotions, winning the FA trophy, JP Trophy and reaching a semi final of the FA Cup I keep getting turned down for jobs.

I've applied for Aston Villa (Low Prem team/Championship), West Ham (championship), Bristol City (championship), Ipswich (championship) and have been rejected everytime.

Any advice on getting a higher job? Tempted to use an in game editor but don't really fancy doing so.

Cheers

What's your reputation like? You will probably have to stick around longer and win more stuff to get it a little higher.
If you started with it on automatic it's most likely fairly low.

The only thing you can do is try take Cambridge to the next level. I started off with Port Vale and got promoted first time. The next season I got a lot of requests from those that were struggling in the Championship, Leeds and Portsmouth to be exact along with Hull. I left Vale after missing out on the Playoffs by a single point. Managed to get the OGC Nice job (they got relegated and I had French as a 2nd language so I was more compatible for that than any other foreign job) Took them up straight away and now I'm in Ligue 1.

The only thing I can think of is that your reputation hasn't risen as quick as your team, just stick it out until you get something that suits. I only went from League 2 as my lowest league which will obviously have a higher rep. Just give it another season or 2 and you should get something better

Sometimes teams are put off by you been contracted to a club (cambridge in ur case). When i was Rangers, Everton got relegated and i never got the job, i reloaded game in- resigned from Rangers and this time when i showed intrest in Everton job they approached me with a contract. im now 3 years into my stay, promotion and 1 league cup later.

this is what they need to improve on in fm12 i think. you have done well to get to the championship and finish 9th which is very good, in real life clubs what look at that just like burnley did with eddie howe, i think better clubs should approach you more in the next game when you do well after 2-3 seasons. it would make you feel better aswell if you didnt have to apply for a better job rather than getting approached by a better club. my oponion anyway
