hello all,

right this year it seems to me the way to go is direct balls into the channel 3 up top the wide strikers whip the ball in, doing this scores plently of goals but also concedes plenty if you move the wide strikers to AML/AMR it significantly decreases the goals scored but improves the defensive side

so the question does anyone recommend any small tweaks to make the wide strikers track back when the ball is on their side with oppostion full back or how to get the wide midfeilders into more advanced positions and when the winger on the right has it the winger on the left attacks the back post

currently playing

SW

FB (s) BDP(c)
BDP(c) FB(s)

DLP (D)
BBM(S) BBM(S)
PF(S) AF(S) PF (S)

instructions higher temper counter press press high up higher line more direct passing get stuck in higher tempo

so any ideas on how the PF's can potentially track full backs etc

Many Thanks

If you have your wide forwards as pressing forwards, they're not going to track back and help because that's not their job. The pressing forward's job when out of possession is to press high up the field against the opponent's defenders, so they aren't supposed to drop back. If you want them getting back and helping, change them to a less aggressive role, like DLF, and maybe select a lower line of engagement than you're using now (hard to say exactly, not knowing what your tactical instructions are).

basically what in an ideal world I would like to do is be a 433 with the ball and a 4141 without the ball

Then you would probably be better off with wingers playing with support duties and told to hit early crosses and more direct passes. Wide forwards won't track back as far or as wide as wingers regardless of role/duty.

yeah maybe its not possible mate ive tried that and the amount goals you stop scoring is ridiculous it goes from exciting football to 0-0 1-1 2-1 1-2 lol im trying to do it with a low-mid team and make something which over achieves i might try getting the midfield to press more and the defence to press less see the the midfielders can get somewhere near full backs to stop crosses thanks tho pal
