It will not be simple. The path will lead through unfamiliar leagues, new cultures, and fierce regional powers — clubs from Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and beyond.


Somewhere in Asia, a club is waiting for leadership, identity, and belief.


For the Gaffer, this is not an ending.


It is the beginning of the next adventure — one with a single destination in mind: lifting Asia’s greatest prize.

The First Step in Asia — LN Tieren​

The journey toward Asian glory has officially begun.


After a period in the wilderness, the Gaffer has found his next opportunity with Liaoning Tieren, a club competing in the China League One. It may not be the glamorous starting point many expected, but every great journey begins somewhere — and this one begins in northeast China.


Founded in 2015 and still a relatively young club, Liaoning Tieren are a side with ambition but limited infrastructure. The squad is experienced, the youth system is underdeveloped, and the backroom staff remains thin. In short: a project.


Yet this is exactly the type of challenge the Gaffer thrives on — building structure, instilling belief, and transforming potential into progress.


The long-term dream remains lifting the AFC Champions League Elite, but that mountain is far away. First must come stability, identity, and success at the domestic level.


Asia has opened its door.


Now the climb begins.

2025 season results - We join at the end of the season where LN Tieren finished in a respectable 5th placed finish which Gaffer will be tasked on improving & with an aging/out of contract squad this is a huge task - one the Gaffer is up for!

Mid Season Report:

The Gaffer’s Start in China — Momentum Building​

The early weeks at Liaoning Tieren in the China League One were difficult. A 2–0 defeat to Shaanxi Union and a 1–1 draw with Qingdao West Coast hinted at a team still adjusting to the new manager’s ideas.

A narrow 1–0 away win against Meizhou Hakka delivered the Gaffer’s first victory, before a commanding 5–0 demolition of Jiangsu Dong Victory in the Chinese FA Cup announced the team’s attacking potential.

From there, confidence grew rapidly. Results began to flow — victories over Wuxi Wugo, Dingnan United, and Suzhou Dongwu helped build momentum, while a thrilling 3–2 cup win against Dalian Yingbo kept their FA Cup run alive.

Even away trips brought success, including a strong 3–1 victory over Pingguo Haliao and a commanding 4–1 win against Nanjing City.

By the end of June, the Gaffer had transformed a slow start into a powerful run of form.

LNTiern sealed a sensational promotion campaign in emphatic style, securing the league title with four games still left to play. A season defined by consistency, resilience, and ruthless finishing reached its pinnacle as the squad delivered the decisive result that placed them mathematically out of reach of the chasing pack.

From the opening weeks, LNTiern set a pace the rest of the division simply couldn’t match. A rock-solid defensive foundation, combined with sharp, incisive attacking play, allowed the side to build momentum early and never look back. Key performers rose to the occasion all year, delivering big goals in tight matches and showing the composure of champions whenever pressure mounted.

The promotion itself was never truly in doubt, but to wrap up the title this early underlines just how dominant LNTiern have been. The supporters, who have followed every step of this remarkable journey, can now look forward to celebrating a historic campaign—one built on belief, togetherness, and an unrelenting desire to win.

With four fixtures remaining, the squad can now enjoy their victory lap, but there’s little doubt this achievement will stand long in the club’s history. LNTiern aren’t just going up—they’re going up as worthy champions!
