SUMMARY

What a month!!! We scored 28 (would have been 32 if disallowed goals had counted) and conceded 17. We were on fire in both league and cup and we finally came unstuck against Real Madrid.

Nothing much happened in the transfer window - I just signed a 16y/o that my DoF found for much cheapness.

Finally, Iker Muniain did something that Aitor never managed. He won the European Golden Boy award. I presume Aitor would have won it 5 years in a row had it been in FM12!!!!

Another decent month. Once again it was Real Madrid who beat us - I already long for the days where we go up against them on an even footing.

SUMMARY

A very important month this with the youth intake and some big games. In the league we have moved 6pts clear of 4th place Atletico Madrid with our victory over them being vital. We can now almost take it easy a bit in the final 7 games of the season and I may give my fringe players a run out as squad rotation has been pretty much non-existant this season.

Now for the youth intake. Only 3 players were signed. 2 goalkeepers have decent potential but this CM has a 5 star potential rating although he is no Aitor!

SUMMARY

The season is just drawing to a close quietly now. Whether we finish 3rd or 4th, it doesnt matter to me. The only game left that is important is the Vasco derby against Real Sociedad.

Ironically enough I am actually becoming more interested in my B side as they have secured a play-off spot in an attempt to win promotion to the 2nd tier. They have also won the Federation Cup while my U19 side won their cup too.

SUMMARY

We wrapped up the season in decent style as we got 7 points from 9 - just a pity we couldnt win the Vasco derby! Not much to be said that wont be covered in the season review!

END OF SEASON REVIEW

So the first season is over and I have to be happy with how it went. We were the best of the rest after finishing 3rd in the league and it goes to show that we are a fair bit off the levels required to dominate.

Now if it wasnt for the transfer restrictions I could just go out and buy 3 or 4 players and we would be winning things but I cant and that is a nice challenge to have.

Regarding my team and the way we played - goals werent a problem although I felt my strikers could have scored more but Susaeta and Muniain stepped up to the plate thankfully. We conceded far far far too many and that area of the team needs work on - especially since Iraizoz and Iraola arent getting any younger.

Individually Aymeric Laporte was outstanding and was the surprise of the season while my 5 main attacking threats from midfield Muniain, Susaeta, Benat, De Marcos and Herrera also impressed.

Neither did I, he ended up pushing both Benat and Herrera out of the team. Good end to the season and good luck with the CL.
