SUMMARY

A mixed month as we faltered slightly in the league and apart from maybe the Man Utd and Sociedad games, didnt perform to a high enough standard. That said we are still in a healthy position in all comps.

In the cup draws we got Zenit in the Champions League and Sporting Gijon in the Copa del Rey.

My B team has been struggling a bit so I signed 4 players on free transfers to help them out for the rest of the season (Jorge Galan, Javi Ros, Ruper and Alain Eizmendi)

SUMMARY

As usual January was very hectic as we crammed in 8 matches. 7 were great and 1 was awful lol. At the start of the month the board gave me more transfer funds but the only decent player on my search list was Monreal and I dont fancy him so I am keeping my pennies!!!

Ander Herrera deserves a special mention for his form during the month as he was immense, grabbing goals, getting assists and filling his fridge with 4 bottles of champers for being man of the match!

SUMMARY

Overall I am happy with this month. Sure we lost 3 times to Barcelona, and in doing so exited the cup but we also beat Real Madrid, Zenit and Valencia in a month of really tough fixtures with games coming every few days or so.

Real Madrid should still win the title but Barcelona and ourselves are chasing them down. It could go all the way!!

Youth intake is next month - fingers crossed..

SUMMARY

This month was almost perfect. Our defense, for a change was rock solid (apart from the one game) and we scored a fair few goals as usual. At the moment it looks as though we will split the big two and finish 2nd but Barcelona are always capable of stringing a few wins together while our longest winning streak is 4 games in the league.

There were no Aitor's in this years intake. A couple of decent ones but nothing to get over excited about!

SUMMARY

Almost the perfect time to have a near perfect month!!! We were immense this month and banged in nearly 30 goals throughout.

We go into the final month just 1pt behind Real Madrid and we are in with a great shout of the title and of course there is a possible Champions League final in the horizon.

Aitor performed miracles as a player and he seems to have the midas touch as a manager!!!

This month ended in a high but it had its sad moments. We just failed to ****** the title with dropped points at the start of the month proving costly but we made up for that by winning the Champions League after beating Bayern Munich.

END OF SEASON REVIEW

What a second season that was!!! We were heavily involved in the title race and managed to split the big two to finish 2nd. The title was decided on the last day so now we know we can compete with the big boys, we just need to win!!!

In the cup we got to the semis before being beaten by Barcelona but it was in Europe where the magic happened.

When the group stage draw was made I was thinking of finishing 3rd in the group and have a good crack at the Europa League but we managed to top the group and in truth the group was harder than the following knockout rounds as Zenit, Spurs and a poor AC Milan side were despatched.

In the final we played a weakened Bayern Munich side and we halted their run of European Cup titles by sneaking it 2-1.

My side does need strengthening but whether the top notch Basque players will be willing to come to us is the big question.

My B side managed to avoid relegation and therefor will stay in the 2nd tier.

PRE-SEASON

I had to make some big decisions during the summer. I not only tried to strengthen my main squad but also my B team needed work on it.

There was presidential elections going on and my current chairman won to stay for another term, he duly rewarded me with a new contract and a ?50m transfer budget which I somehow just about spent.

And here is who I spent it on..........

PLAYERS IN

Llorente and Griezmann was interested and I agreed a ?25m deal to sign Inigo Martinez from rivals Real Sociedad but I cancelled that in order to bring in Cesar Azpilicueta from PSG for ?40m. He was more important as Iraola is now 33 and there are no standout RBs in my youth team.

PLAYERS OUT

Iraizoz was released along with 20 or so other players. The only first teamer that left was Mikel Rico to Villarreal for ?1.1m while Erik Moran left to go to Getafe for the same fee.

Enric Saborit and Guillermo has been demoted to the B side to help them out and they should shine at that level while prospects Sebas, Velasco and Mere have been moved up from the U19 squad to play at a higher level regularly.

SUMMARY

Obviously the main change is Azpilicueta as my new RB while Iturraspe and Ruiz de Galarreta will battle it out to replace Mikel Rico. Patxi Nieto has been promoted to the first team squad so hopefully he will return from injury and get some minutes to develop.

SUMMARY

A mixed month as we kick-off my 3rd season. Results wise in the league it was decent but our overall performances was not up to standard by a long way. Even our draw away to Real Madrid was a shocker.

In the Euro Super Cup we got beaten very easily by Chelsea in the worst performance of the month but that was sweetened by our draw in the Champions League as we were paired with Lyon, Ajax and some Romaniain team I have never heard of (Pandurii)!!!

The board in their wisdom decided to give me more transfer funds safe in the knowledge that I couldnt spend it on anyone which was nice of them. They wont do it again because I went out and spent ?25.5m on Inigo Martinez from our fierce rivals Real Sociedad on deadline day!!!

I figured he is a step up in class from San Jose and alongside Laporte should be my CB pairing for many a year to come.

As a result of this Jonas Ramalho has been demoted back to my B side where he should be a standout player in the Liga Adelante. This also means that apart from Griezmann and Javi Martinez the chances of me spending big bucks again is very remote.

Following this story. You had me convinced at the "addicted to regen" part. I LOVE the regen system of fm. Its why I play it. The feeling of finding regens who grow into god tier players is so fulfilling. Lol. Also,I still play fm12. I played till year 2034. Still playing(though I aint touched the save in a while,laptop damaged. Waiting for it to be fixed.) Will be following.
