Been playing around with a new tactic lately. May be better suited to the lower divisions actually. Developed while playing as Pro Vercelli in Serie C. It uses a 4-4-1-1 formation and is fairly uncomplicated, and allows for tweaking during the game.

So far after 15 games we're 4th in the league and 3 points off the top. Media predicted us to finish 13th and to struggle to stay up. But we currently have the joint most goals scored, least conceded, highest goal difference and least games lost. The one problem I'm having at the moment is drawing games we should be winning. A few times we've drawn games we should have won, but I feel this is down to the players than the tactic itself.

The basis of the tactic is to play quite narrow football, with emphasis on a target man. The away version differs slightly from the home. The wide midfielders track back and the emphasis is more defensive as well as other minor tweaks.

Most important positions:
Striker: Acts as a target man. Must be able to hold up the ball. Look at finishing, dribbling, technique and first touch here.

Attacking Centre Midfielder: Pace or agility not required here. My current player here is 34 and is a beast. High flair, passing and technique. High creativity stat useful here.

Centre-backs: Technical abilty not as important as physical. In my team I have one fairly pacy centre back, and one aggresive physical centre-back.

Additional information:
Pitch size should be as narrow as possible obviously. Set workload to high and additonal focus area is optional, although I've gone with 'Defensive Postioning'. The tactic is open to tweaking during the game so feel free to play about a bit with it.

Looking for people to try out and test this tactic while offering feedback. Maybe even a few to try in the high leagues to see how well it works there. Here's a few screenshots:
