Former Two time World Snooker Champion died today at the age of 61. Higgins who had been fighting cancer for the past two years today passed away in hospital in Belfast.

Been coming for a while but still sad to hear. True great.
 
Unfortunate, but as said it was coming. Fantastic player.

RIP.

Just listening to this on BBC Five Live while making the dinner.

Didn't see him much myself, But i hear he was a great snooker player.

They don't make snooker players like him anymore, a real entertainer and one of the very best.
 
Rest in peace, thoughts go out to his family and friends.
 
This was one of the sports greatest ever characters. Always controversial and highly entertaining.
He helped put snooker on the map during the seventies and eighties.

The opening post is wrong as he died in his flat and not in hospital as quoted and also had been fighting cancer since 1998 not for the last two years.
