With Harry Kane scoring his 100th Spurs goal and Wayne Rooney recently becoming only the second player to reach 200 goals in the Premier League, I thought it would be fun to see how close I could get to breaking Alan Shearer's long held record of 260 goals.

As a Man Utd fan I've started up a new save and am going to attack this from two fronts - Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial who currently have 12 and 17 goals respectively, waaaaay down the list.

So let's get cracking...

As you can see both started the season on fire with 17 league goals between them, Rashford with an impressive 10​

A superb season for someone so young. Would have liked to have seen him be more greedy and turn some of those assists into goals!

Overall a good year but disappointed by his goals return in the Premier League. Suffered an injury and a goal drought mid-season. Maybe a change in tactics is need to get the best goals return out of both Rashford and Martial.


They are still some distance away from challenging the big guns in the golden boot stakes.

2018/19

I moved away from a 3 shadow striker formation to a 3-4-1-2 formation to try to get more goals but Rashford and Martial ended around the same goal tally again unfortuntaley - still impressive but I want more to be honest
