Almunia accuses Arsenal

I think the effort was there from arsenal they just got simply outplayed by one of the greatest side's ever...

However.. they did set up far to defensively and even passed up many opportunities at counter attacks which is not like arsenal at all.. so imo they deserved everything they got
 
It was Fabregas' fault for the first, I thought Almunia played very well. Arsenal just looked like they couldn't be botherd towards the end.
 
So it was only me who thought that Arsenal played with no hunger or determination at all, especially after the red card? That's not how a champion should behave. Champions will continue to fight on even if the stakes are against them. They weren't closing Barcelona down as often as they should for the whole game and let them have too much time on the ball. Barcelona I thought weren't even at their full throttle, simply because they didn't need to.

Only two players from Arsenal showed any sort of hunger and determination IMO, and that was Wilshere and Almunia. Koscielny to a lesser extent. The others seems that they couldn't be bothered at all.

And this isn't the only game, they played with no hunger or determination against Birmingham too.

i think that they need to focus on the premiership cos thats the one they want and now its anyones

Seriously how many people actually watched the first half. They could hardly break past Arsenal until Cesc gifted them a goal and then it was over. Well it was 1-1, we might have built on that but then RVP got sent off and then it was truly over. All everyone says is "you didn't have a shot" or "You were totally outplayed" but all that happened is they had almost ll the possession and they only won because a player gifted them a goal and then we had a player sent off.


BTW, I'm not saying if none of those things happened then Arsenal would have won, i'm just saying thats how they won.

They also somehow got away with this.

Bot on topic: Almunia has cost Arsenal a lot of matches and he has the nerve to say this :O
 
he will never be number 1 again and i doubt arsenal will win the title untill the have a GOOD keeper like edwin van der sar or buffon [ovs not them] but someone around 27 with some experiance
 
Only 1 guy gets to complain about arsenal not trying and thats Wilshere the lad never stops trying. Not you Almunia, you play 1 good game and start complaining.....
