in help threads, under the title of "Position", you can read: 'Right-click, hold and drag any player to alter their forward runs instructions, as indicated by the dotted arrow'. but when i try right-clickin' and every other things, it wouldn't work.

right-clickin on a player opens a drop-down menu that contains any possible role and duty for the current position of the player; and there's nothing about forward runs and you cant hold or drag a player with right clickin on him.

so, how can someone altering players' forward runs?

You have to change to the tactic style of 09 i think mate. This is the one without the tactic 'wizard'

Somwhere on the right of the screen on tactics should be an option to take it off the 'wizard'

The arrows where taken out of FM2010. To change forward runs click on the player in the tactics screen and click the 'Advanced' button and you get your good 'ol fashioned sliders back :)

Joe, dude, i couldnt find the Option you were talkin about.

here's the thing. i want my CBs go wide and my DM come deep and become a extra CB between the actual CBs when i possess the ball. meanwhile LB and RB must bombing forward and...
is there any possible way to do things like this in brand new Advanced menu?
anyway many thanks, both of you guys!

(From memory mate, so wont be exact!)

Go to your tactics screen (pitch should be on the right)

Then i think that on the right hand side, just abouve your strikers should be a drop down menu.

Click that and there should be an option to turn the tactics to the ones from pervious Football Manager games.

Select that, and it will say somthing like "once you make this change you cannot change it back"

Click ok.

You should then have 'sliders'

On the view of the pitch, left click and hold - drag the player to where you want him to make his runs.

Sorry if this isnt clear but im not on FM atm! Hopefully its somewhere along the way to being correct!

i assume you're playing a 4-2-3-1 or something, and you want to make the 3 man defence? you need to use the play wider shout and teach your dm comes deep to get the ball. as the full backs get forwards the cbs will drift across, and the dm will drop back. make sure he has a defend duty
