Holmgang! It's an ancient Norse trial, where you would put two people on a piece of land jutting into the sea, arm them, and prevent them from leaving until one was dead. The survivor obviously had Odin's favour, and was thus the worthy winner!

also the are the fairest way to decide a game which ended in a draw

I think that penalties are amazing as they add so much tension and make youre heart explode. And this is from a Bayern fan.
