USA Cup kicks off
Seattle struggle, can we take advantage?
Villa unhappy and wants to leave...

MLS Results

Montreal Impact 1 - 3 NYCFC

McDonald, Lampard, Gall

Solid win after falling behind, McDonald nets just after half time and Lampard scores just after to put us ahead. Winger Gall slotted home in the 90th minute as Montreal pushed for an equaliser.

NYCFC 2 - 1 Chicago

Gall, McDonald

Another win coming from behind after Sinama-Pongolle put them ahead after three minutes. Gall scored just after another half time bollocking, Robbie McDonald continued his hot streak scoring the winner on the 54 minute mark.

NYCFC 3 - 0 Toronto

Lampard(2), McDonald

Stunning win over Toronto here, Double from Lampard and another for that lad Robbie McDonald who surely must be knocking on the door for the national team with this scoring spree!!

Orlando 1 - 2 NYCFC

McDonald(2)

Brace from that guy McDonald again here in a tie we were fully in control of after our stunning 3-0 loss to them early in the season. Simple stuff this time.

NYCFC 2 - 0 Philadelphia

Villa, Gall

The return of David Villa here and he marked it with a goal against a weak Philly side. Romain Gall scored again here too to conclude an impressive month for him.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

USA Cup

Third Round

NYCFC 1 - 0 Charleston Battery

Pena(PEN)

Fielded a very weak team here and we limped to a win thanks to a lucky penalty from Mexican midfielder Oscar Pena. On to the next round though!!

Monthly Review

A stunning month in which we won all our games. impressive considering I had to field our third choice keeper 16 year old Marcos Ruiz for the Orlando and Chicago match due to injuries. Villa missed most of the month too playing the last 20 minutes of the USA Cup game and some of the Philly game which he netted in. Romain Gall and Robbie McDonald are the two stand out performers this month though scoring a plenty and playing really well. Lampard had another stunning month too.

Now a more pressing matter, Villla is homesick!! Second time he's complained and if it was the off season I'd give him a leave of absence but instead I've promised to sign a friend... which just isn't gonna happen. I might let him go at the end of the season if I can fetch a good fee for him.

Great month for the lad in front of goal, really stepped up. Impressive season so far from him.

Storming our conference with ease. Seems like its becoming a straight fight between us and Houston for the Supporters' Shield, be nice to win a trophy in our first season.

Just three MLS ties this month
USA Cup tie goes to penalties....
Tight games against Colorado and Dallas

MLS Results

Sporting Kansas City 0 - 2 NYCFC

Olum(OG), Harris

Straight forward win here Olum turned it into his own net before Harris tucked away after coming off the bench.

Colorado 1 - 2 NYCFC

Lampard, McDonald

Really tough game against rock bottom Colorado here. Robbie McDonald to the rescue though and the kid just continues to impress me. Lamps netted again.

FC Dallas 1 - 2 NYCFC

Lampard, Rowe

Another tough away game, our third of the month but yet again we walked away with the three points. Frank Lampard really is the difference for us without him God knows where we'd be.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

USA Cup

Fourth Round

NYCFC 0 - 0 Portland

NYCFC win 9-8 on penalties

We should have wrapped this up long before extra time and penalties. But in the end what matters is we move to the quarter finals....

Quarter Final

NYCFC 1 - 0 Minnesota United

Vega

Tight win here over lowly Minnesota United, it took a lucky cross from left back Diego Vega to float in for us to move on to the semi's. We're well in with a shot of winning this competition now....

Monthly Review

Another great month, all easy games but three MLS ties away from home I was kind of expecting to maybe drop some points. We're really storming the league and Villa has yet to hit some form... if he ever will. But Robbie McDonald continues to massively impress and Lampard is always a massive threat and never lets me down.

In the USA Cup we should win it now. Our semi is against the Tampa Bay Rowdies.... if we lose to them I think I might resign purely because the name is a bit of a disgrace. On the other side of the tie is New England and Philly both who we should beat. It would be nice to win a trophy in our first ever season!!

Also storming the Supports' Shield. Should be another trophy hopefully, but the main one is the MLS which is determined by a knockout phase I believe.

Things are going really well so far! Also interesting to see that Lampard is such a class player for you despite his age.

Just 4 matches this month, all league games
Villa finally finds the net again
Winning run over

MLS Results

San Jose 3 - 3 NYCFC

Lampard, Villa(2)

c85ed467744f1eccad44c53859d8bd1c.png

What a comeback but to be honest we really should have won it with all the chances we had. Villa missed so many but still made up for it a bit later on. Real stunning come back.

NYCFC 3 - 0 Portland

Cato(2), McDonald

Thats more like it!!! Double from injury troubled winger Cato, McDonald netted his 13th goal of the season after coming off the bench.

Philadelphia 0 - 0 NYCFC

Hmmmm really should have won here and Villa had a nightmare in front of goal yet again.... still a point I guess.

NYCFC 1 - 4 Sporting Kansas

Villa

What the ****...... I have no idea what went on here. They scored two absolute screamers but we were absolutely awful!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Monthly Review

Well our winning streak came to an end. That comeback against San Jose was stunning but we should have won anyway really. The Portland win was very good but **** knows what happened against Philly and Kansas!! Anyway we've built up enough of a lead to allow for a rough patch which I'm hoping is now over anyway.

In other news Lampard is homesick, I've said I'll try and sign someone to help him settle... open to suggestions lads!!

Not totally settled yet but barring a total collapse we should win the shield.

What patch you on? Didn't the notes say they fixed villa and lampard getting unhappy. Anyway always enjoyed your stories since fm 12. Took a break with 14 now back on. Looking forward to more. :)

Honestly not sure when they updated it but I don't mind to be honest makes it a bit more interesting if they try and force a move away.

Thanks man, yeah had a great save with Crawley last year but didn't post it sadly. Glad to be back though and loving this save so far, tempted to maybe turn it into a Journeyman save when I feel like I've done all I can with NYCFC

Interesting to see who you could bring in to help Frank out. What standard of english players want to come?

Well I don't have much of a transfer budget left and the wage bill is slightly over too. Did have a bid for Rio Ferdinand accepted but he refused to talk to us

Sorry about the lack of updates guys but I have all but finished the season... Not too sure what to do with the save though I can't see myself carrying on at NYCFC for more than another season or two, I'm kinda of tempted to turn this into a huge journeyman save would people like to see that?

MLS-Cup-Trophy.jpg

So I powered through with the rest of the season apologies, so this post will let you know how our season went... did we win the MLS Cup? How did we get on in the US Cup too?

US Cup

So when I last left you I think we were in the quarters against Tampa Bay Rowdies, now this cup is a bit like the league cup in England... BUT if we win it we qualify for the North American Champions League next season regardless of how we get on in the league!!! Lets have a look at how we got on :)

49c63bd2aa928c2b9f5a5f95b8215cfe.png

Yeah we won it with ease in the end, Tampa Bay gave us a tougher game than I expected but we nicked it in the end. The final was straght forward enough as we outclassed New England. Our first trophy!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------

MLS Cup

So last time we were easily storming our conference and the Supporters Shield too and looked nailed on the qualify for the Play Offs for the biggest trophy the MLS Cup!!! Lets have a look at how we got on in the rest of the fixtures...

15ea41505675723cb186a8b104948647.png

As you can see we had a tiny blip losing two in a row but in the end we stormed it at the end and won our conference with a 3-2 aggregate win over DC United and qualified for the MLS Cup Final against FC Dallas!!!

MLS Cup Final

Formation

Lined up with my tried and trusted 4-3-3(DM). Probably the strongest line up I could field to be fair, towards the end of the season Marcos Ruiz had edged out senior keepers Saunders and Kronberg even though he's only 16.

Smashed them with ease, we were very lucky as the Western Conference does contain much stronger teams like Seattle and LA Galaxy but we still win the biggest trophy in the MLS. And will automatically go into the Group Stages of the NACL.

Lampard was our best player by far, Villa did disappoint a tad but both are now settled again apparently after the US Cup win they no longer wanted to leave which is good. Robbie McDonald shocked me at how good he was actually scoring only one less goal than Villa!! Romain Gall was a beast out on the wing, and Hagglund was such a rock at the back. Dillon Powers and Perry Kitchen supported Lamps well in the middle of the park and Kelyn Rowe was so good with his versatility.

Three of our boys feature which is always good to see.

Anyway thats the season, we won everything domestically and I'm going to have a crack at the NACL next season but I think I have settled on turning this to a journeyman save going to places people don't normally venture to.

''I couldn't not tak this job, I love the club and its been killing me seeing them struggle. I know its going to be tought but with this quality of playerrs there's no way we should be this far down the table. I will save this club.''

So we still boast the likes of James Ward-Prowse, Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Tadic and Clyne. Signed some good players too, I really don't get how Hypia has managed to ruin this club nearly!!
