I have a bit of a problem with Anderlecht, I win the League and cup every year but i cant seem to progress past the group stage in Europe. The problem is I cant attract the calibre of player that would help me to do well in Europe. Has anyone else managed a team in Belguim and had the same problem? Any solutions?

I have expanded my stadium several times, improved training facilites and youth.....but still cant attract bigger names dispite having the cash and wage structure.

I haven't managed in Belgium, but I am managing FC Twente. I had the same problem as you had, no big names wanted to talk with my club. Staff or players. The only thing you can do is progress to knockout stages if you want to have big names playing for you in their prime. Otherwise buy well known players that are going in their 30s.

I won the CL in my 2014-2015 season, and only afterwards big names wanted to talk to me.

very good base , now win some european trophy and you'll get a dreamteam ;)

Or build on your youth. That is how Anderlecht became top dogs in Belgium.

The next step (because you cant control how players see your league) would be win a european honour and you can then attract the next level to the club

just buy some cheap youth and wait for them to mature for a few years. with Galatasaray I can get a few decent names, but nothing special. I'm having to buy cheap Brazilians and French players.

the other problem i then have is keeping the good young players i get in, within a couple of seasons they want to move to a bigger club....its a bit of a catch 22 situation!
