I have been an avid Footy Manager player since the days of champ man 97/98
I buy every version and pride myself on trying to "defeat" the game XD
Obviously as the game gets "smarter" this is becoming more of a challenge
since they introduced coaching badges I decided to start my career from the bottom up
ie. no badges, lowest league
i started in conferance league north with curzon ashton (predicted to finish bottom of the league), was mid table by xmas. Left for altrincham who were languishing in the conferance. Guided them to safety. In my first full season i guided them to the playoff places, but exeter city came calling. (Altrincham walked the playoffs) finished just outside playoffs with exeter. First full season with exeter finished outside playoffs again by goal difference. Now with some tweaking and lesson learning ive finally settled with the tactic you see, which just got me promoted with exeter from league 2.
so here is a tactic that isn't tested on the "best" teams in Europe but honed in the depths of the lower leagues of England
opposition instructions - assistant manager
general training - balanced average
match training - def. positioning
try and have all the players training in the position/role they play in
I have found that if you cant quite break the opposition down, switch from counter to control and switch from short passing to direct
