I try to load my saved game and it comes up with a message saying "The save game could not be loaded"

Im a few years into this save so any help would be greatly appreciated !!

This is why it's always a good idea to set up your game so that it uses a 3 or 5 rolling game save. That way you always have at least two backups. You save is most likely corrupt.

I'm guessing you have an anti-virus installed? Make 100% sure it doesn't run system scans while you play FM. It causes all sorts of trouble.

You can try the following:

Try deleting your preferences - Football Manager 2014 Frequently Asked Questions

Then delete your cache - Football Manager 2014 Frequently Asked Questions

Once that's done, reverify your cache and try the game again - Football Manager 2014 Frequently Asked Questions

The only way to know for sure is to post on the SI forum so that they can investigate.

Thanks for the quick reply ! I've tried the following yet it still hasn't loaded ... Guess i'll have to make multiple saves everytime now !

Was your game was interrupted as it was busy saving? That's another possibility, but my guess is that it's your anti-virus that caused it. As I said make sure it doesn't run system scans while FM is running and always have a 3/5 file rolling save enabled.
