Anyone else finding FM 2014 impossible to play?!

Whether im Arsenal, Man City, Barcelona, Madrid or Birmingham, Oxford, Brentford i just cant buy a win... Im always losing consistently no matter what tactic i create or download and im just getting fed up with the game... I just want to snap this disk in half and NEVER play football manager again because i feel that the developers have made this game completely **** now... 5 years ago this game was AMAZING now its just patheticly ****!!!! does anyone agree or can anyone help???
 
before you give up try this tactic as i was doing bad with my game but since i started using this tactic ive done really well but i do agree with you it as gone **** cuz a lot of people are getting crash dumps or its freezing

Thanks for the reply mate! its not to do with the crash dumps i had them but it was my anti virus! but just the game itself is so bad... they used to make it so that it was possible to win games now with birmingham i won the first 5 games then lost like 8 on the trot! now im like 18th and trying to rebuild and sell all my players! will try that tactic though thank you!
 
Just try and stick at it mate. Pick a team, pick a suitable tactic for the players you have available. Do what you can in the transfer market. Make sure you're match preparation is correct - Train on tactics until players are familiar with it then change. If you are conceding too many goals, use defensive positioning in training and take it back to basics. Not scoring enough goals? Change to attacking movement. Too many injuries? Change the intensity of training.

The Upshot is that there will be reasons to why you are losing games and one of them might be bad luck. Just try and change a few things - not all at once mind! I know how frustrating it can be, but if you stick at it then in time you will start winning games. Good luck mate!
 
i just dont understand how anyone can struggle at this game its simple play 3 formations 4-2-3-1 with wingers

on control fluid as your main formation
same formation on counter fluid as your 2nd and your third 4-1-2-2-1 on counter fluid its just so easy

unless you've got midfielders with **** marking stats its a major part of midfield this balance in the hub of the team with creative attaking players to get the goals for you
 
thank you! i know birmingham arent the best but no matter what im doing nothing works, iv changed the training now and trying to sell the older players in the team and bring new players in, my training at the moment is on defensive positioning as id like the back to be solid before we start attacking, even if we drew a few games at least im not losing!
 
i have tried that but nothing works... trust me 4-2-3-1 doesnt work with this birmingham team right now
 
I know how you feel mate but hang in there you'll get it.I struggled with the game at the beginning too and still do to an extent. I only manage man united atm becuase they're who i support and i find it easier playing with them cuz i know a fair bit. I might start saves after the next update with teams lower in the league but honestly keep at it

Use the guys advice here in the forum. They can and will help alot
 
yeah its so hard for me! i support arsenal and always start with them but i know the team so a bit easier! i guess i will just have to keep going and hope for the best!

had enough... backed up some save files and graphics and installed 2013 back... much better game and more competitive atleast you can win games on there...
 
that feeling when your loosing 2-0 and your team comes back and wins the game 5-2 and your jumping around like youve just really won the world cup fist punching haha love it

Exactly - Ive had success with tactics Ive made and mostly it is I who score late goals this version ...
 
same with me i only ever manage 1 team overall tho manchester united i always play the same style paitent possesion with flying wingers & skilful strikers hate using target men 4-2-3-1 wide just seems like the best formation on this game unbeatable if you get the right players for it need to have midfielders with good positioning marking & tackling off the ball regardless of what role u choose to play a cm

The most satisfaction I've had is from winning using a "home-grown" tactic, it makes the win feel that little more special. Or of course, destroying United at Anfield. That holds a special place in my heart.

I like this football manager the most, I like it'd hard to win because once you win too much you get bored.
